How I Met Your Mother: The Final Season

I wonder if they are setting up Bryan Cranston for another appearance this season. His scenes this week were entirely filmed behind the desk at his office, and could have been shot anytime.

Maybe he'll return later in the season to try and convince Ted some more, this time by making the trip out to the hotel.

I didn't care for it until the Mother showed up, that part was very well done. It's funny about Bryan Cranston though, whenever I see him on anything I don't think of Breaking Bad, or Malcom in the Middle, I always see him as Tim Whately: the perverted, re-gifting, Judiasm converting (for the jokes) dentist on Seinfeld.

Funny, I didn't realize Cranston played Whatley until well after Malcolm in the middle came out, even though I followed Seinfeld most of its run.

I doubt he would come to the hotel, since it appears Ted has probably already accepted his offer.

Can't decide if last week's ep proved that the seasonal concept actually works, or if it proved that the seasonal concept is a dumb idea. Whatever it is, though: I enjoyed it more than anything else so far, save possibly the season opener.

But he does have to ring up Cranston to say that he doesn't want the job any more.

Tonight's episode was good. I especially loved the reference to the perpetually unexplained Pineapple.

Next week's rhyming episode had better be good. That could end up being incredibly bad and cheesy.

What's the story with the pineapple? I don't remember that at all.

It was awesome to see Lithgow again, but this wasn't a very funny episode. And no Mother :p

Way back in the first season, Ted woke up after a night of being blacked out drunk to find a sprained ankle, a girl in his bed, and a pineapple on his dresser. Went back through the night trying to piece it all together again, and figured out everything except where the pineapple came from. They ate it anyway.

Yeah, ted whining about not being with Robin again was so tedious,
Well, she is the reason why he meets the mother.
In one of the episodes there was a flash forward where he is at the Farhampton station after the wedding. And the old lady asked him about it and he said something along the lines of "long story/it's complicated, don't want to talk about it". So he gets all Robinpressed and, I dunno, probably leaves early.

So expect more of that. ;)

How you describe Ted reminds me of what another Ted did to an old lady from Airplane who turned into a skeleton when he prattled on too long.

I thought this episode was pretty good. The A story with Barney trying to get his parents back together was a little lame (except for the musical numbers). I did however love seeing Ted try to figure out who destroyed his picture though, and I love that Billy Zabka's had a recurring role this season.
