Re: How Has Your Smartphone/iPod Touch (Portable WWW Device) Changed L
^^ How many phones do you own?
One, the HTC/Google Nexus One. For a while I had two, one was provided by my employer (AT&T) the other was personal. I tended to change them out rather regularly for a while (subsidized toys FTW), but here's the complete list of phones I've used. The smartphone OS is given in italics, if I got OS updates they're given with a slash. FYI this has been since about 2006:
HTC Nexus One (
Android 2.1/2.2)
HTC Touch Pro (
Windows Mobile 6.1/6.5)
Motorola KRZR K1 (
dumbphone, I was feeling retro and bought one for $30 unlocked)
Nokia E71 (
Symbian 3rd Ed)
iPhone 3G (
iOS 2.x)
Palm Centro (
PalmOS Garnet)
HTC Tilt (
Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1)
Motorola Q9h (
Windows Mobile 6)
Blackberry Pearl 8100 (I
HATE Blackberries)
Nokia E62 (
Symbian 2nd Ed, what a giant hunk of crap that thing was)
Motorola RAZR V3xx (damn good phone, used it for a year, gave it to my GF, who used it for 6 months, then gave it to her mom who still uses it)
Samsung BlackJack (
Windows Mobile 5/6.0)
Motorola KRZR K1m (man that was a sexy phone for the time, decent MP3 player, oddly enough was faster and had better software than the K1 I bought years later)
Motorola RAZR V3c (bought one to shut my GF up)
I was curious what the battery life is on these things. Some of the stuff I've read makes it sound like they can't go through a full day without a charge. Is this correct? I've been thinking of buying one but I'm hesitant to buy a phone that might leave me stranded.
I'm a fairly heavy user (lots of web browsing), 3 email accounts synced at once, tons of apps, and I get a day out of my Nexus One. It's either about to die when I go to bed, or on a lighter day and when I forget to plug it in, it will be about ready to die in the morning. iPhones are the worst when it comes to battery life, on the other end the Nokia E71 could go 2-3 days without needing a full charge under normal use, and with light use would last a whole week.
