The upstream is actually faster but it apparently gets throttled very quickly after an initial burst. When it starts off, the upload passes 1Mbps, then it stalls. Hm.

FYI: this is with only one bar.
Wow, I couldn't figure out how to export the image but I got 3.40 mbps / 1.00 mbps on my iPhone 4 just now. You must be closer to the nearest server.
Leopard 10.5.6 and hacked wlan drivers. (Unstable as hell.)

The machine in question is a modified Dell Optiplex GX260.
I know those machines! I used to configure/work on GX260's and 280's for a state gov't IT office.
