How far?

On the other hand, there have been cases where the new publisher got the reprint rights after the license changed hands -- for instance, when Del Rey got the Babylon 5 novel license away from Dell, they reprinted at least two of the Dell novels (the ones that were still counted as more or less canonical). Similarly, Dark Horse has done reprints of Marvel's '70s-'80s Star Wars comics, and IDW has reprinted Trek comics from multiple other publishers.

Didn't Pocket itself do that with Mission to Horatius at one point? Or am I remembering wrong?

May I ask why we're not allowed to suggest ideas? I am simply asking outlines or concepts not plots of anything.

I'm new here so if someone would be so kind to explain the rules please?

So how far if they keep things going in the prime timeline could they conceivably take it. And it still be recognizable as Star Trek and not far future sci fi with Trek coloring?

I mean 25-27th centuries is good but 10,000th century-it's not even Trek just the author's imagination in a setting that happens to be vaguely connected to trek?

Frankly I don't think that Trek'll go past the 25th century, if we're spending more years 2376 style at least.

That's a downer-I wanted to see the adventures of the time ship relativity(not an idea just a wish of mine!) could it work though-I'm not suggesting ideas just I mean could far future 1000 yrs onward I mean could that fit?

Don't worry I think these wishes are within the rules.
Well, it is not necessary for TrekLit to do 2376 years. We pretty much fast forwarded through 2377-2385. Personally I'd hope that we have some longer years. It allows for character development to come at a logical pace in universe, and we don't necessarily have to jump from one character defining moment to the other. I think the way Kirsten MF Beyer and the original DS9 did it was the best way. Personally I always feel a bit removed from the characters when I read the TNG novel, that is set so long after the last time I "saw" the characters.

A Timeship Relativity series would be highly unlikely, in my opinion, but then again I am not a Pocket editor or writer. The highest probability of featuring anything time travel related is definitely Christopher's Department of Temporal Investigation series.
