HOW excited are you for PIC compared to DISCO?

Both are kinda weak in places. Disco had better become less surface over substance because it's already a 6/10 for me (barely watchable).
Picard seems to bait nostalgia a lot and its main chance appears to be to NOT rely on the old actors but become something new.

Can we not drag politics in to the comparison of Star Trek? I know I'm one of the few right leaning people around these parts, but good grief does it escalate quickly. It's discouraging that there can't be actual conversation.

That's fair. I'm cool with people that disagree with me about political issues. IDIC and all that. And although I do have my differences with conservatives, I think there's a vast, vast difference between a conservative and a far right fascist. I mean, fucking concentration camps y'all.

Well, I mean Star Trek (and Doctor Who, The X-Men, Planet of the Apes and Romero's zombie movies) are famous for putting their liberal social commentary front and center. And Picard is clearly about Trump's concentration camps. And anyone that keeps throwing around the term "snowflake" is either alt-right or very comfortable with being lumped in with the alt-right.

Having said that, I'm okay with you and your differing ideas. Hell, Star Trek is all about how differing people and ideas can contribute to better themselves, each other and society. If we all agreed about everything, there'd be no conversation or discourse or advancement. We'd be the borg.

Basically, I'm cool with differing opinions but I draw the line at "Concentration camps, yay!" And I doubt you're one of the "Concentration camps, yay!" people.
