How drunk are your holidays?

I won't be drinking much more, just switching from beer to other things like wine, brandy, and Bailey's. The amount is about the same though.

I seldom drink in excess, and never around family members...

:wtf:

What's wrong with that? Getting drunk with your friends is one thing, getting drunk in front of Grandma and Great Aunt Maud is quite another.

I don't drink to get drunk. I drink because I love a nice glass of wine or cold beer. The drunk part comes from having to much, which is just a natural part of the holidays. If you could get drunk off of sugar cookies or my mom's amazing cranberry sauce or my grandmother's homemade yeast rolls, I would be. :bolian:

Ah yes, over-indulgence will certainly occur in the trampledamage household, just none of it will contain alcohol :)

Well, I don't drink very much except when I have a day off. And since I have several days off around the holidays, the single malt scotch will be making an appearance. (possibly more than one). The Onyx cigars may come out, too.

Reminds me of my drinking days. Once after a night of sluuuuuuuuurp, I puked all over the floor - in front of my dad. He thought it was hilarious. I thought it was :alienblush: .

Also there was that time I got plowed at my niece's birthday party (her fifth) and I sat on the cake. Well, a piece of cake, anyway. I was convinced that she and my nephew did that to me on purpose - placed a slice of cake where they knew I would sit.

OTOH, once I drank an entire bottle of plum wine and then proceeded to have a conversation with my stepmom. If she ever let on that she knew (how drunk I was), I'm not aware of it. I don't remember *acting* drunk when I was talking, anyway.

I never drink alone. My wife can outdrink anybody, though. I don't even try to compete with her. I'm a lightweight and I don't care. Makes me a cheap drunk. :p

I'm curious. When you're drunk, do you know you're drunk?

I rarely drink enough at one time to even admit the possibility, but there have been a couple of occasions where I wasn't planning to drive anytime soon, and I was thirsty, and there was nothing but cans of cheap beer available. I had a few. Hated the taste, but it was better than nothing. I don't recall feeling any different though.

Oh yes. I've been drunk few enough times to know when it's happening. Couple shots of Clan MacGregor and I'm feeling it.

I am never drunk enough during the holidays...usually working. Since I am not working now...there is no money to get drunk with. :(

Cause it feels so good...

Not so much when the buzz goes away.

I know I am drunk when I loose all feeling in my nose and lips or when I catch myself climbing up on tables or destroying property. I would say that snogging random people is an indicator but I will do that sober.

^
Taste? I love the taste of Brandy and whatever...I also like Southern Comfort. I usually mix both with Soda water or Sprite for a lighter taste...I love Brandy & Code Red Mt Dew...taste so good.

Since I choose to not drink, my holidays are not drunk ones. I still manage to have a good time anyway. :)

It varies for me... I never really plan these things in advance. I never go to any Christmas parties except for the big family get-together on the 25th, and I might have a little bit of Christmas cheer then, but usually not too much.

New Year's Eve can be a different story: last year I got plowed. But I was out at a bar with a friend; some years, I don't have any plans, and so I don't have a drop. This year, so far, I have no New Year's plans, so I might be ringing in 2010 completely sober. We'll just have to wait and see...

I'm curious. When you're drunk, do you know you're drunk?

Oh, yes. It's hard to explain, but when I'm plastered, it's like there's a tiny, sober part of myself still inside of me, totally aware that I'm drunk yet unable to do a damn thing about it. :D

Same here. I don't drink, hubby doesn't drink. We both grew up with alcoholic fathers and having that kind image associated with drunkenness rather puts one off.

We both did a little drinking way back when we were young but that was it. We don't even keep it in the house, except for the cheap stuff we use to cook with.
