How do your pets react when you are sick?

I have a bad cold and have spent the last couple of days in bed. Thanks to social distancing and masks ect this is the first cold I have had in almost three years.
The last time I was sick my cat, Spider, was alive. He passed away during lockdown in 2020 aged 17. Spider used to remain by my side whenever I was sick comforting me. To me it seemed like he was able to send out healing vibes, at the very least it was nice to have him cuddling up to me.
If I had an asthma attack Spider would be frightened and run around the house in a panic.

My current cat, Georgy, does not seem to care about my health at all.

Are any of your pets good ‘nurses’?

Junior will snuggle with me more when I'm sick, but it could very well be because I stay in one place for a longer time when I'm ill.

Any time My wife or I is sick, the cats stay close and like to cuddle up, especially when we're sleeping. Our dog used to do the same, especially with my wife, but she was too big to be up on the furniture, most of the time. One of our cats is my constant companion when I'm home and even seems to sense moods- if I'm down or disturbed, he's right there with head bunts and big purrs.

I have two dogs, my lab just leaves me alone, but my Dachshund will snuggle up to me as tight as possible and doesn't leave my side. She sort of does it to my wife, but not all day.

Because my cat has been residing in a small blue urn on my bookshelf for the last two years, it's no surprise that there's no reaction whatsoever.

Growing up, my dog had a lot of empathy. Here and now, our cat, not so much.

Mrs. Silvercrest and I have just had our turn with coronavirus. In a few days she'll probably be back on to tell about it. And she can tell you about the sympathy/empathy she got from her cats growing up.

But our present-day cute little ball of fur, who purrs and chatters and insists to snuggle up on your lap, could not care less about feelings. It's more like negotiating with the Borg: Illness is irrelevant, and resistance is futile. It's only a question of whose lap gets assimilated first.

My cat Charlie cared. She wasn't a lap cat until the last 5 or 6 years of her life but whenever I was sick, she'd lay on the back of the recliner. Every once in awhile she'd reach out and touch my head.
She never did that the rest of the time.
I miss her.

[ I totally disagree on how our sweet but loud cat is. She does care, well about me anyway . She came from a little old lady who was sick all the time and in bed. So our kitty knows all about having a sick "mommy". I know it bothers her when we are sick. She follows me and will lay where ever I am. Like up against the couch or chair or against me when I am on the floor doing something. She also likes to lay on me more when I am down/sick. I know she cares. Cats just show it differently. I have had dogs when I was growing up. And I had a little dog that slept in my room at night. She was my dog and so smart I trained her to do a lot of things. She was a small dog. When I was sick she would only leave my side to eat and do her business outside. She watched me. And she also told me when it was my bedtime. She would just know I needed to be in bed and would whine until I came to bed then she would go to sleep. She also would bark if I coughed too much or sneezed. Like she was saying "bless you". or letting my mom know I needed something.
So anyway, to defend our cat. She cares.

My dogs kind of care, they'll come over to check on me, but usually they'll eventually wander off and go about their business.
