How do you watch your TOS?

Recently I just saw it in order from S1 to S3.

There definitely was a drop in episode quality by S3, but it's not as bad as people say it is. Some episodes I could have done without, but for the most part, 90% of the entire series is great. I think that's a huge milestone (I'm a big TNG fan, and I think 50% of it is trite and dull, and maybe 20% unwatchable)

I like what you said about TNG. I love watching it but sometimes when it is on in repeats and I turn it on I say, not that one again. I agree there are some I will not even sit through again and there are some very good ones. As far as the original I have been watching them in order, just makes it easier to pick what I watch next.

I have been watching them in the order they appear on the blu-rays.....after the first few episodes of Season 1 there dont appear to be any real jarring things such as costume design or Uhura wearing gold instead of red :)

With the marvels of blu-ray it is like watching them for the first time, and I have avoided the temptation of going to my fave episodes first !

More often than not, and thanks to itunes and my ipod, I watch TOS on one of the many plane trips my job takes me on.

I watch TOS as the mood hits me. I like to skip around to my favourites and then the ones I rarely watch..

I like watching it in production order, though it doesn't matter much to me which order I watch them in, but I do need to be suspended in lime jello wearing pink slippers while I watch. Mandatory!

I watch whatever episodes I'm in the mood for. Sometimes, I'll just skip to certain scenes. Other times, I'll be 20 minutes through an episode and decide I'm not in the mood for Star Trek after all.

My wife truly hates watching TV with me.

At first I thought "utterly randomly", but that's not quite true. I pick a Season DVD set, then a particular episode, and I usually end up watching another episode or two on the same disc. So, I jump in randomly then pretty much follow broadcast order.

I only got to thinking of this when I discovered "Tomorrow is Yesterday" was originally planned to be the sequel to "The Corbomite Maneuver".

Actually, word is that it was to be a sequel to "The Naked Time." The breakaway from PSI 2000 was to send them to the late 1960's. But there hasn't been a lot of back up to the whole 2 episode thingy.

I watch it in "I haven't seen Episode X for ages" order, or "I fancy watching that scene again" order. I dip in and out. That's my preferred viewing order. I do seem to watch the same episodes over and over, though. For instance, yesterday I watched Return of the Archons, which I haven't seen in years and years, and Miri, which I seem to watch every 6 months.

I'm currently watching it in order as it is on the disc. I'm over half way through season one, and there has not been an episode so far that I have disliked.

it's less important to watch the original series in any real order, than tng or any of the follwing series...continunity was not as important as just keeping the show on the air to the production staff. i can only think of only a handful of references to earlier episodes on the original series, however they abound in tng, enterprise and voyager

That's the one. Thanks for correcting me. Don't know how I managed to confuse the two episodes. :alienblush:
