How do you dress?

Probably a mix of androgynous Tokyo street fashion, American preppy, and a bit of biker thrown in.

At home/weekend: Jeans and t's, with flats or flip flops.
At work: dress pants, sweaters (light or heavy) depending on season; nice blouse-style tops (not too dressy), low heel dress shoes or flats, capris in the warm weather with strappy sandals or flat sandals.

To give you an idea, today I wore a blue plaid button up long sleeve shirt, sleeves rolled up and top two buttons undone, Levi 505s, Converse Slip Ons, my Sprout Watch and my necklace.

So jeans, sneakers and a button up shirt is my style.

That's a good look. :techman:

Thanks! :bolian:

My work clothes are the standard slacks, dress shoe, collared shirt and tie. I usually throw on a sweater vest over it, though as summer moves in, that is getting a bit tougher so that I am not soaked in sweat when I get to work. I hate having to tuck in my shirt. :klingon:

Casual and i love my Keds. They are all i wear. I haven't worn "shoes" in a long time.

I've been working on losing weight and so i started buying some nicer clothes. When i was chunkier i wore big baggy stuff, but i'm buying more fitted stuff, now that i feel better about my weight.

At work in the fall and winter: dress shirt, pants, and shoes, often with a sweater or sweater vest. Jacket and tie on days when I'm lecturing. Sometimes a suit.

At work in the spring and summer: dress pants and shoes, short-sleeve shirt.

When outside but not at work: work clothes, or casual pants and shirt. Shorts, t-shirt and walking shoes when I'm out exercising in the morning.

At home: shorts and t-shirt in summer. Pyjamas and slippers the rest of the year. Sometimes robe, especially when I'm smoking my pipe. I'd like to get a smoking jacket, but I don't think they make them in my size.

I never wear a t-shirt outside of my home unless I'm going to State Fair of Texas.

My clothes are always pressed. I normally wear a button down of some type. Pants vary, but normally it's nice jeans or dress pants.

I own 4 pairs of shoes. I'm not a shoe person.

For work, it's usually a black, dark grey or navy blue suit, plain shirt though the ties can get a little loud.

For casual, polo shirt and jeans or cargo trousers.

The recent "Your appearance" thread brought this to mind. That thread seemed more concerned with whether you're secure with your weight, features etc as opposed to clothes which is what I was wondering about. How do you people dress?

I always like to wear nice clothes (well from my perspective, at least). By nice I don't mean dress clothes. I wear t-shirts but I want them to be cool t-shirts that I'm happy to wear. When I go shopping it takes me like one hour to pick one shirt. Even if I'm not going anywhere I still wear clothes I really like because it makes me feel good.

So how about you guys? What do you wear and how do you rock it?

You missed out when you decided not to buy that red blazer at H&M. You rocked that hardcore.

It's true, I did. I am wearing the beige blazer I got during that same trip, though.

What I wore today (fairly typical for a workday):

I'll wear slacks and a sweater or blouse to work, jeans or capris and a sweater or blouse to school or to go out, a skirt and a sweater or blouse to church, and sweats and a t-shirt to hang out in at home. My sweaters and blouses get a lot of mileage.

During warm weather, I'll wear sandals, and during cool or wet weather, I'll wear zip up boots. I hate wearing shoes, so I slip them off at my desk when I'm at work.

I blame this thread for putting thoughts of dresses and pretty clothes into my head and making me waste time window shopping on websites.

Assorted tees, sometimes they have collars and buttons and long sleeves. But generally the foundation for my outfits are nice, fitted jeans (I don't own a belt---my ass keeps them up just fine) and skate shoes. My clothes tend to be tighter than they are loose.

I dress down for work, unlike most people. My work clothes must be easily washable (so jeans and a t-shirt are common) and any jewellery apart from a watch is a bad idea. I still wear jeans around the house but they're my more expensive ones and I wear nicer tops when I don't have to worry about paint and baby spit and such. I like to wear jewellery when I'm not at work but don't own many pairs of shoes. I knit and have several fab sweaters on the go, and these I'll NEVER wear to work. I also have a nifty collection of hand-knit socks and winter woolies.

We have a very casual work environment here, so I typically have no reason to dress up. Sometimes I'm in the mood and will put a little extra effort into my outfit for the day, but most of the time I keep it pretty basic. Case in point: today I am wearing jeans, a t-shirt, a zip-front hoodie and some sneakers. Very casual and very comfortable. Pretty much what I'd like to wear every day. Sometimes I'll wear a button-up dress shirt or a polo. Occasionally I'll wear khakis. No suits and ties ever, unless it's a wedding or funeral.

Fifty thousand RL Polo shirts.

What I wore today (fairly typical for a workday):
You would be so stifled by a general hospital ward! ;)

Occasionally, if one of our patients is admitted to the general hospital, and the staff there are having a spot of bother and I'm nearby, I pop in for a quick consult. Always nice to see how the other half live, anyway... I usually get a few looks. ;)

Gotta remind them how doctors should be dressing. There are still a few old school docs (mainly surgeons) there who still do so, and they need moral support from my generation. :D
