How do I get my PS3 to play Hulu?

I've been getting kinda bored with some of the pickins on TV lately. The only shows I watch are The Office and It's Always Sunny. Working nightshift Friday thru Tuesday I miss all the shows I'd like to watch. So, inspiration struck that I could use my PS3 to watch shows on Hulu. Alas, it met to no avail. It said that it couldn't be shown on this platform.

Is there any way around this? I checked into hooking up my computer to my HDTV but the computer doesn't have an HDMI jack on the back. So, am I stuck having to buy a new computer to watch Hulu on my big screen, or is there a way to get the PS3 to play Hulu videos?

Is there not a VGA input on the back of your HDTV so you can connect it to the PC like you would with a monitor?

I think TVersity works? Or, if you have a non-slim PS3, you can install Linux on it and then just browse Hulu through a browser.

I think the easiest way would be to set your PS3 down flat and place your computer on top of it. Then Hulu would play on your PS3.

I was curious about that as well since I have a ps3, too bad it doesnt work.

About your computer, just buy a dvi to hdmi cable. The dvi connects to your video card in the back of your computer (you may or may not need a vga adaptor depending on how old the card is).

Hulu used to be compatible with the PS3 browser, but then they took it away.

Yeah I used to do that, and it bothered me when it went away. I bet the want to drive visitors to the PSN video store or something.

Actually, there was some conflict between NBC/Universal and some group that was making software to connect your PC to your TV for the express purpose of playing streaming video on it.

Basically, NBC/U doesn't want people putting Hulu through to the TV set. It's just as likely they are responsible for breaking PS3 compatibility as Sony is.

Sony didn't do anything to break the compatibility, Hulu have contractual obligations that don't permit them to allow streaming so they just lock out the PS3's web browser. I don't believe there's any way around this.

I thought I'd read somewhere that Sony had said 'boo' to Hulu... but maybe I have it backwards. Oh well.
