In voyager the ship is constantly travelling home, and gets help from kes to knock years of their journey and other stuff, yet after years of travelling they meet up with talaxians, surely for them to mbe where they are they shoyld have been travelling approx 20 years so unless they left their home decades before how did they get so far ?

Also if romulans are from the same make up as vulcans , who are supposed to be 5 or 10 times stronger than humans or whatever it is, why are the romulans not the same, in fights they seem only on a par with the humans ?

The Romulans had super strength and agility in J.J.'s Star Trek. On the other hand, weak human Jonathan Archer whupped Vulcans on Enterprise with ease.

As for the Talaxians, if humans can be spammed around the galaxy, other species can too. It's not like there are big fences in space segragating everyone.

Well seeing how late that was in VOY, I doubt the writers even considered (or cared) where the ship was in relation to Talax.

Probably the backstory is that Seven used her nanoprobes to jury-rig an anti-tachyon phase generator into a chronometric vortex manipulator, which she used to travel through space and time to Talax to instruct a group of Talaxians on how to modify their engines into a quantumwarp slipstream core, which allowed them to travel to the planet, set up a colony and await the arrival of Voyager. Thus Seven is assured her place within the plot structure in some significant way, all with the Doctor tagging along as her "wise-cracking" sidekick.

Clearly in the future Neelix pulls an Admiral Janeway, traveling back through space and time to Talax and giving the relevant individuals the information and technology they'll need to make it to where he'll find them in their future and his past.

All the fights in ST09 were Romulan-human excepting for Spock's Vulcan on Vulcan stuff.

Voyager was making extended stops practically every week. Nonetheless, if they were consistently traveling in a single direction at a decent pace, the Kazon would have to have been pursuing them doggedly to keep running into them like that.

Voyager travelling all that distance and yet turning around and meeting the Kazon doesn't seem to make sense.

I think Voyager had been travelling a year and a half from Kazon Space before they decided to 'turn back' to rescue Chakotey's 'baby'.

But one problem is that in that area, Tom Paris talked to some Talaxians and convinced them to help.

That means the Talaxians were in this area, one and half years away from where Voyager first met Neelix.

Another odd one is Seska's decision--she wants to survive in the delta quadrant and get home to as soon as possible.

Why would she choose to stay with the Kazon, who dont have replicator or transporter technology? They wanted Voyager more than Voyager needed them.

Voyager's cruising speed was around warp 8, that's why the 1000ly/year convention.

With the Talaxians they had been traveling for a very long time but don't know how they got around Borg space. Maybe they happened across a wormhole.

Another kind of odd thing is the way the Hirogen appear in both season 4 and season 7 with massive jumps in between. That makes far less sense than the Talaxians appearing. Or if the Hirogen can really travel that fast Voyager should have perhaps asked for the technology.

IMO voyager was plagued with bad Writing, they had great ideas, but often by the end of the episode it was the easy way out.

Like when Janeway decided to go trough Borg space, I'm sorry but no one sane would do that, but she read the script and knew Kes would help them out. ......... because if Kes didn't have her 'evolution' they'd all be assimilated and dead.
... well that's my personal ending to voyager.

It's like when Tom Paris 'becomes' a rebel out of no where, and it's supposed to be believable, and he's just faking it for a secret mission. They should have done that episode way earlier like when the Maquis where still having difficulty adapting. I don't think anyone would have bought it in reality, not even the audience.

VOY was plagued with good ideas and poor execution.

For a ship alone in the unknown, they don't seem to have problems with supplies or morale, and even after getting into phaser fights almost ever week they have surprising little battle damage to patch up. Their crossing the DQ should have been much more of a struggle.

Another thing they could've done differently, which would've made more sense and brought a lot more tension to the ship/crew would have been the Seska storyline. I never got why since she was revealed as a Cardassian she had to leave the ship (why? What could she possibly gain from staying behind with the Kazon?), it would have been much better for her to stay onboard, as a source of tension for the rest of the crew. Meanwhile, before the episode where she was uncovered Jonas should've been introduced, and been working in the shadows with the Kazon, and then frame Seska for it. They could have done so much more with Seska remaining on Voyager it would have been great fun to have watched--even if they did decide to kill her off later.
