How can anyone think Sisko died?

I imagine it to be like in 'Emissary', when he's no longer on the convential plane of existence, but on that of the Prophets - with the revelation of his mother being possessed by a Prophet, Sisko becomes comparable to the demigods of Greek mythology, so the idea of him 'ascending' to 'godhood' (metaphorically speaking) makes a great deal of sense symbolically.

Especially considering Ron Moore's tendencies - just look at the latter part of NuBSG!

I'm an epic idiot and I also hate you guys. I didn't finish watching DS9....and I'm hearing stuff like he left his son & wife to join the prophets? .....all my joy is gone.

Do we really need to add Spoiler Warnings more than a DECADE after the show ended?

i hope sisko can access generation's nexus, and is not trapped with the nonsensical balderash of those prophets for all times.

You hate me? Yes! I've finally made the big-time! :D

Judging by the topic title, what did you expect? I mean, Sisko didn't die at any other point in the show, so why would you open a link to spoilers if you haven't seen the finale yet?

Also, it's not exactly what it seems. I'll try not to spoil it more for you, but Sisko doesn't choose to leave his life, it's just something that happens to him as he tries to save the galaxy. It's very open to interpretation.

Besides, it's not like anyone spoiled the huge spoiler of the final season, when Kira, Garak, Dukat, Quark and Mirror Bashir get killed in a random meteor strike. I'm not sure what Ron Moore was thinking when he wrote that. :shifty:

The whole thing is just kind of stupid. They should never have made Kassidy pregnant if Sisko was going to go all prophet heavenly. There's something slightly disturbing about the fact that Kassidy's kid AND Jake are left alone. Especially when you remember The Visitor.

For that matter, why can't Sisko visit them regularly in "Prophet visions"? Is there anything stopping Jake from flying into the wormhole every week and hanging out with Sisko? The fact that Sisko went out in such a lame way makes it even worse.

I love all the Dominion stuff and character good-bye stuff in WYLB but the Pah Wraith and Prophet stuff is just nonsense.

I've seen a lot of people on this board claim that Dukat died, even though the wormhole alien very clearly stated that he did not.

So if the canon of the show is going to be ignored in order to claim Dukat died, it might as well be likewise ignored in order to claim that Sisko died too.

Got to admit i thought he was dead, i was just confused were he disappeared to lol. So hes not dead hes living the prophets basically and will return to Ds9 when hes ready??
But he's living with the prophets, why would he leave his wife, son and friends?. This is the only part within the last ep which confused me :/

On a slight tangent, I remember when it was first "spoiled" that Sisko was going to die in the finale, fans sh*t a brick.

The increasing use of Sisko's plot with the Prophets is one reason why I'm so disappointed with season 7. Sisko's end was particularly dreadful.

The idea oh him being dead still boggles my mind. To the people who think he is dead do you consider the Prophets dead? Or the aliens from Meridian that existed as both corporeal and non corporeal?

Sisko has essentially become a prophet he is a non corporeal life form which would mean he is still alive.

If Sisko is still alive, in some form, then what about Gul Dukat and Kai Winn? The Star Trek Wiki page lists Dukat's current status as "trapped in the fire caves" but it lists Winn as dead - but the fire that burned her up was "magical" fire that also envelops Sisko and Dukat, so what gives?
