One thing that bugged me was using the exact same shot of House wincing in pain in this episode as they did a couple of seasons ago when he induced a migraine in himself.

That was really a great episode. Greg Yaitanes deserves an award for his directional work here. It was not just the bus crash. The whole episode felt a little bit surreal. Great, great work.

This has been nagging me for sometime, but now it has finally clicked. The imagery of House replacing Amber with someone else and following that psychological path with the actions surrounding the false Amber reminds me of what Hawkeye went through in "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen."

And that also involved events on a bus.

Hey, that's right. And the funny thing is, I've been rewatching M*A*S*H lately and I'm about to go buy Season 11 and see the unedited finale for the first time in years.

Excellent episode all around, especially the Cuddy fantasy, which is now one of my fantasies. Damn, I love this show and there's only one episode left this season...grrrr.

I think those who call into question House's caring nature with his patients (he's shown it occasionally, but keeps those kind of emotions under a tight reign) he really showed it with Amber because he actually cares about her...whether it's for himself or for Wilson remains to be seen ;)

I wish the House writers would stray from the usual House formula far more often--when they do, it always results in fantastic TV.

I gave this one an "excellent" like everyone else but had one nitpick that no one's mentioned yet. If Amber is being treated at Princeton Plainsboro, wouldn't SOMEONE in the ER recognize her from her stint with House? She was bloody, but not unrecognizable as far as I could tell.

I wasn't sure if this one was the season finale, but I wouldn't have minded if that were the case. Good to hear there's one more coming!

She wasn't at their hospital, but at another one that took six patients.

She was being treated at another hospital, and they didn't have a photograph of her, that's why they just had a piece of paper saying "Jane Doe #2" on 13.

As EMH says, she was one of the six survivors taken to another hospital. This was set up in multiple scenes, and is nicely seeded in retrospect. First, they establish that six people went to a different hospital. Then they have House and the Houseketeers looking over the files sent over from that hospital and House complains that he can't actually see those patients, because there are no pictures in the files. So when the re-enactment comes, "Jane Doe #2" (who was mentioned in the file-checking scene) is represented only by Thirteen wearing a page of text around her neck rather than a photo around her neck like most of the others. So they peppered the episode with subtle hints that there was somebody whose appearance was hidden from the characters.

Thanks for the clarifications. I just watched the episode on my PSP on a plane, so I must've missed that bit of explanation. Consider my nitpick withdrawn! :)

Props, also, to RSL who really sold his heart breaking when he realized Amber was the criticaly injured/sick one House was looking for.

Absolutely. My heart went out to him (and of course Amber) at that moment. He has always impressed me as an actor, ever since Dead Poet Society.

I do have to admit that Amber looks kinda creepy when House finally does figure it out... So, I had to make a YTMND of it. :p
