Meh. Whoever did the research for this episode really dropped the ball when it came to the LSD. I can accept the cartoonification of her experience and behavior for humor, but the medical stuff was just old-fashioned fear-mongering anti-drug bullshit long since debunked and someone should have caught that.

I thought it would be great if Connolly had been House's Father. He seemed to be a good foil for House. So will this be the Arc? Who is House's real father?

What about Stephen Fry as the man with two limps who plays House's Brother!? I want to see that!

BUMP!

This episode finally aired this past week. Forgot to bump the thread.

Oh well.

Thought it actually was a decent episode, liked Billy Connolly as House's "father" and loved how House's mom out-Housed House and Wilson on tricking him to come see her.

I'm actually also really enjoying the "marriage" between House and what'shername.

Park's LSD trip was funny but Taub in flying around in the fairy costume was the typical out-of-whack "oddness" the series has delved into this season on occasion.

I'm surprised Wilson didn't see through Mrs. House's rather obvious con. I knew right away she was faking the cancer thing. It was all a bit too conveniently arranged for Wilson's benefit, and come on, she's a House.

Then again, maybe Wilson did see through it, but knew she must really need to talk to House if she was willing to go to those lengths, so he went along with it. He didn't seem that surprised when House told him she didn't have cancer.

Billy Connolly has a terrific voice. A lot of fun to listen to.

Connolly does have a great voice, sometimes his accent sounds as "too Scottish" as the one put on by James Doohan in Star Trek; but I've been a fan of his since he was on "Head of the Class."

I wonder too if maybe Wilson didn't see through Mrs. House's "trick" a bit and played along with it. He did go through a lot of hoops to get House to see his mom both of the other times he was avoiding it.

It's a shame we've not seen more of Mrs. House, or that Mr. House wasn't seen more, I really like her and how much House even seems to "respect" her on some level beyond a maternal/son one. Had to laugh out lot when Wilson said House's mom was a slut.

He is actually from Scotland, though, Glasgow to be precise.

I know, and I've no idea how a "real" person from Scotland talks but part of me can't help but wonder if Connolly doesn't turn it up to 11 as part of his "persona" when he acts. I suspect not, though, especially in a serious role on a drama series.

Huh. I guess now -for all that it's worth- both of the teachers from "Head of the Class" have now appeared on House.

Well, there are at least two different classes of Scottish accent, Highland and Lowland, and I'm sure there are regional variations within them both. If anything, I'd expect a thicker accent to be more authentic, less "tamed" to be comprehensible to the mainstream.

My mother's mother was from Glasgow, but came over here young enough to lose any accent. However, when one of the cousins came to America to visit, I couldn't understand a friggin' word he said!

Gram's father died when I was too young to remember how he talked, but Dad like to tell how he used to try to make him say "How now brown cow," and the best he could get was "Hoo noo, broon coo."

My DVR didn't record it. Though, I'm not surprised. Fox wasn't exactly being easy with its scheduling craziness. I'll probably watch it on HULU.

If you have digital cable it may be on your provider's OnDemand service either now or within a couple of days.

I believe Fox waits until a full week after the release date to put their shows OnDemand (as well as on line.)
