Yeah but that's the I, Robot interpretation of a higher logic. It doesn't work like that, especially in a case like this where a number of events could have happened to prevent the genocides.Grayness? It's black and white. Hypocrates's oath is clear: do not harm. Chase clearly broke this oath. Don't get me wrong, it does great tv but there shouldn't be any moral dilema from a doctor's standpoint, anyway.
He has a point, from the stand point of both options did harm.
If he lived, harm to thousands, perhaps millions of people.
If he dies, harm to him.
The question then becomes triage. Which option results in the least amount of harm.
The standout scene, for me, was House helping the vet relax his arm.

A doctor's oath to "do no harm" only applies to his patient not to extend that oath to people or things the patient might do once out of your care.
Besides, it's not like they make you sign it.![]()

Haven't you shrieked bloody murder for the last several years after the "Rampage" episode of ER? Haven't you carried the "I gave up on the show after they made Greene a murderer" torch forever? What's the difference?
Shit, this is arguably worse: Chase took blood from a corpse with scleroderma and used it to contaminate the dictator's test results. Foreman stopped the treatment for his (correct) diagnosis after pressure from Chase and Cameron to treat for scleroderma. Chase completely fabricated a condition in order to kill the patient.
