Holy crap. I am losing my mind!

What? It's totally understandable.

A person has an item in their left hand. They open the fridge with their right hand. They reach into the fridge, PUT THE ITEM DOWN IN THE FRIDGE, and pick up the desired food--leaving the original item in its place. (Change the hands used as applicable.)

Precisely. :D
But why are you putting it down in the first place? Can't you keep it in your hand while grabbing the new thing with your other hand? Why do you have the remote in the kitchen in the first place? My remote never leaves my coffee table.

Presumably, your other hand is holding the fridge door open. Maybe you use your foot for that, or you elbow, but not everyone does.

And some people carry remotes around a lot. Especially if the kitchen is adjoining the TV room, as it is in many small apartments.

I guess I just don't see the need to carry the remote around. I'm not a big channel-changer. If I have something on the TV, chances are it's gonna be there a while.

I do not watch much TV live anymore so once or twice i have tried to FF live TV when a bit was boring me or a AD came on.

Ha! I do that allllll the time! I will also sometimes start to rewind the news that I'm listening to on the radio, the way I do when I miss a bit of a favorite song on a CD. "What did that interviewee say again?" I'll think to myself as I reach for the button...

I'm yet another one who has left the car keys in the fridge. Had to take a cab to work. I'm amazed at all the people who have done this. I thought I was the only one.

I once parked my car at home and left it running. It was still running nearly 36 hours later when I next went out to drive it.

In Albert Einstein's autobiography, he admits that he locked himself out of his apartment something like ten days in a row. This was when he was a young man and had yet to publish his theory of relativity. The family renting to him thought he was a retard.

Ditto. Of course it takes me a minute to figure out why the reverse button isn't working.
