Hmm. What if Dr. Sam Beckett were to . . .

Sorry to be pedantic, but the Bakula/Stockwell reunion was in the season one episode "Detained," well before the Xindi arc.

You're quite right! It's been a few years.

And as to the "within his lifetime" restriction, we only know that to be the case within the run of the series. As I recall, in the series finale, all we know is that the "higher power" appears in the person of a bartender, and we don't know where Beckett ends up.

Come on, let's break some "fifth walls."

Wasn't there something in Quantum Leap about him leaping into people outside his lifetime who were related to him? I think it was a soldier in the US Civil War... They could have said that Jonathan Archer was a distant descendant. The genetics fit! :)

Yeah, it was one of the last episodes of the series. Sam can leap into his relatives even if they lived outside his lifetime. So, Archer and Beckett are related. Awesome! :)

So Archer beams down to a planet, he's wandering around the town, he pauses, turns, sees what appears to be a mirror mounted on a wall, but that's not his reflection!!

It's a wrinkled, green skinned crone. Archer stares, his eyes popping. He makes to say something, when the mirror moves...

It is in fact a window and the wrinkled green skinned crone shouts at him to stop staring at her.

As Archer walks away he mutters "oh boy" under his breath...

What if Dr. Sam Beckett were to leap into Captain Archer?:wtf:

Actually, Scott Bakula was asked this question during one of his panels at FedCon XX this year. The question came right after he'd talked about ENT's untimely demise. His answer was that Sam would make sure that Archer gets to go before the Paramount execs and convince them to produce three more seasons of Enterprise.:rommie: Not a bad arrangement, if you ask me.:bolian:

Becket can only jump into people who lived during his lifetime. You fail at Quantum Leap. ;)
In the episode Carpenter Street, Archer and T'Pol time travel to the year 2004. Assuming that year fall with in Sam Beckett's life span, Sam could have jumped into Archer during that episode.

Who fails now?

:)

But then you'd have one time traveler who doesn't belong in that time stream leaping into another time traveler who doesn't belong in that time stream, both trying to change something in the past, and not necessarily the same thing.
