Historical stories not covered enough by Hollywood

Is there a movie about the "soilders strike" during WW1.

You mean the mutiny of sailors in Kiel? I only know of one fictional movie, Das Lied der Matrosen (The Sailor's Song) from East Germany. From the description it sounds like ghastly propaganda. I've never seen it but only heard of it indirectly because my father loves to tell the anecdote of one of the actors, Eduard von Winterstein, being asked in a live interview on the radio about the mutiny which he experienced first-hand. Not on the side of the sailors, though, as it turned out. He talked of how it was when "the mob noisily roamed the streets" instead.

It's certainly an interesting topic, the whole revolutionary era is. However, for Hollywood it's way too left-wing. Those guys were socialists and communists, after all. Besides, the bloody end of the revolution isn't very uplifting.

^He may be referring to the "christmas truce" in the trenches. I don't know much about it beyond the Paul McCartney video, hehe.

Ah, that. It got mentioned in Doctor Who, I think. Not sure if I've ever seen it in a movie or TV show.

How about the story of the German submarine Deutschland? It broke through the British blockade and was the first submarine to cross the Atlantic, on its way to buy goods from the United States. A lot of interesting adventure stories can be told.
