I feared that they might cut the budget for this show, with mediocre ratings, but doesn't look like it. A+ production values, at least for the scenes in the trailer.

After Season 2 aired, Jane Trantor talked about the possibility of doing the story of The Amber Spyglass over the course of two seasons, but that's clearly not what happened.

Unless you're the type of reader who can compartmentalize things and view source material and adaptation(s) as separate pieces of art (and some people can't), I'd suggest waiting to read the book until after you've watched the third season.

I thought Pullman based the Mulefa on the Wheelers in Ozma of Oz by L Frank Baum, but he was apparently inspired by watching skateboarders while on holiday in Slovenia.

Yeah, I loved learning about their physiology. There was something enchanting in how utterly alien they were, and it's something that's stuck with me over the years.

I think they gave us a brief glance at them at the end of Season two. There's a brief scene where the camera lingers on some alien-like creatures.

Yeah, my bad, you're right. Still, seeing them felt like a step in the right direction in possibly getting to see the Mulafa, being that we never got to see either of them in the movie.

Funny thing about the Cliff Ghasts is that we already had this conversation earlier in the thread. I should've remembered.

Still no glimpse of the mulefa but we do see the magnificent trees! Along with angels, harpies, and who I can only hope are Chevalier Tialys and Lady Salmakia.

Saw the trailer the other day, it looks awesome. Hopefully I'll have time to get through Doom Patrol Season 2, and watch Season 2 of this, before Season 3 starts.

EW.com has revealed the first 2 pictures of the Mulefa, but neither picture show them on their seeds, one is from the chest up, and one is from the knees up.
I can't really remember how they were described in the book well enough to judge how accurate they are.
