Hip Hip..Hooray!!!

When I saw Wrath of Khan in the theater and Spock responded to Savvik's "You lied." with "I exaggerated." the crowd went crazy laughing and clapping with applause. Same thing with Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy shoots the sword wielding baddie. At the end of Batman and Robin one brave soul stood and clapped and said "Thank God that's over."

I think it's liberating when people cheer after a movie, and I've seen it quite a bit. I'm actually tryiong to remember.

During Transformers, there were quite a few cheers. One was Barricade's transformation to a car just before the rock music kicks in, and the other was Optimus first assuming his truck form

People cheered at the midnight show of "Star Wars," May 25th 1977 at the Uptown Theatre in Washington DC - not at the end, but when the "Millennium Falcon" first went into hyperspace.

People standing up and cheering and shrieking and some jumping around.

Mostly stoned and or drunk...

It was pretty amazing. Obviously it stuck in my mind (two beers, before the show, thanks...).
