Sure why not. Generally Mediterranean or North African lineage - and preferably not a better Scottish accent then your Highlander - is what one might be looking for.How about an Israeli playing an Egyptian pretending to be a Spaniard?![]()

I was joking by suggesting they once again cast a Frenchman and a Scot for roles which don't suit either nationality.Nah. For Ramirez they should get an actor that could plausibly be Spanish (but really Egyptian!), as opposed to a guy who'd be an awesome stand in for other Sean Connery roles, presumably ones where his Scottishness made a lick of sense.
Of course, Highlander III lacks the awesome that were Ramirez and the Kurgan.
That's another flaw of the franchise, I think. Ever since the first movie they've always tried to make their villains into the next Kurgan, instead of just doing their own thing.
There were more movies in the 1970s to early 1990s with sex and nudity than there are nowadays in general. The big rise in budgets and the shift in movie-going habits which has left teens as an increasingly important target audience has led to an increasing focus on PG-13 fare.I wonder if Lambert used to have that written into his contract.. That he HAD to have a steamy scene... Seems like most of his movies at the time had them thrown in gratuitously..

The sex scene was better than the first one, however...

Hey I just realized something wasn't Highlander basically remade when they did the third one?
No, I believe it was a continuation from the first. Totally ignoring the alien crap...![]()
Continuity-wise it was a sequel to the first movie, ignoring the TV series that was airing at the time. Plot-wise however it was basically a remake of the first movie. Conner wants to be left alone, meets girl, shares secret of immortality, challenged by large brutish Immortal, defeated in first battle, brute kidnaps someone Conner cares about, they battle, Conner wins.
III is a terrible film, it's just a rehash of the first one without Ramirez, and it is horribly paced, with naff dialogue and below par special effects. The only reason it isn't constantly ragged on as an awful Highlander sequel is because it lacks the absurdity of the second one, making it instantly forgettable.
For all its faults in terms of taking outrageous liberties with the concept, Highlander II is a much better movie. At least it had some well played villains in the form of John McGinley and Michael Ironside and some interesting visuals and ideas about the future. Highlander III has virtually nothing to redeem it.
So are there any actors officially attached yet? I am hoping that it is set in NYC though. There could be some great backdrops for head choppin' action. FAO Swartz would be a fun one.![]()
Gah! Why did you post that? After years of intense therapy, I'd finally scoured every memory of that movie from my brain!![]()
Wait you have to work to forget Highlander: The Source, I though it should be easy since the movie is apparently so forgetable the makers felt the need to include a recap of the plot of the film up to the end IN THE FILM.
Oh, you won't find a bigger Queen fan than me, I can assure you. I love the original film, and like the show. I just can't see the point of remaking it, just to copy such a major part of the original. Give me something all new.
Although to be honest A Kind of Magic is my least favourite album Queen album, except maybe Jazz.
Really. I'd say A Kind of Magic is probably my favorite Queen album and "Princes of the Universe" my favorite Queen song. I also love Jazz. I mean, how can you not love "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Bicycle Race," "Don't Stop Me Now," and "Mustapha"?
My least favorite Queen album is probably either Flash Gordon, Made in Heaven, Hot Space, or News of the World. (Outside of the overplayed "We Will Rock You"/"We Are the Champions," News of the World is thoroughly forgettable.)
Amidst the explosion of recent success he has enjoyed, director Justin Lin (Fast Five) has stepped aside as the director of Summit Entertainment’s Highlander reboot. Lin had been attached to direct the film since Summit acquired the rights to the property back in May of 2008. However, his schedule is somewhat hectic of late what with plans to direct Fast and Furious 6 next and potentially the latest Terminator installment after that. All scheduling issues aside, though, Lin will remain on the project in an executive producer capacity.
The sequels were crap, but the original Highlander movie is a classic and most importantly a product of it's time. Half of what made a movie about immortal guys swordfighting in New York is that fucking Queen was rocking out behind every other fight scene. Can they do that now? No, they're going to hire some nu-metal losers or fucking Nickleback this time.
They need to leave Highlander alone.

with regards to the new Highlander film, they may once again find themselves with the same problem the original had. We already know how the story must end with 2 Immortals having one final battle for the Prize. So if you have that in the movie you can't have a sequel without some sort of convoluted reason
