Who is that Actor? is that Nimoy playing Sarek? Does he have a double role in this movie? I really can't tell with this makeup.

Kind of looks like Andreas Katsulas.
He would have made a good Sarek.

+1 That was a strange transporter effect. Also, that seemed like an odd position to be beaming down in, no? Could he have been beaming up and they reversed the film?

Nah, the rocks in the background are clearly falling downwards as he materialized.

Maybe they knew they were heading into a war zone so they were told to crouch and beam so they would have a better chance of not being hit.

haha agreed! i see no resemblance! no dramatic license allowed!

personally, i think jj should be forced to reuse all the old sets and props from the 60s, and use CGI to reuse all the original actors (and their voices)

Me too. Definitely went in the right direction with that.

I thought it was pretty weak, myself. Hoping it's some sort of "temporal transporter" type effect instead of the real one.

That said, the bridge is starting to grow on me and the corridor looks good.

I love the corridor! I love parts of the bridge, and dislike others. I probably wouldn't have designed the details of the new bridge as they are though the form is nice.

I burned it to disk! Its a really crisp copy and I have an HD-DVD player and 46" LCD. It looks SO good!

I remember my days of recording the trailers on VHS and not being able to see much because of the resolution.
