No picking on detected.
I make no apologies for noticing the details and liking them though.
Just as a matter of basic physics, btw, everything radiates heat, including for example, the sun, which I believe is in space.
What I'm seeing in the trailer is extremely bright light. That's a good thing. I didn't mention a heat haze. I didn't see one.
But the lens flare effect indicates power and enormous energy. That is a good thing.

Again the light part was ok, when I seen the back of the Enterprise at warp, I was thinking of the two white balls in the back of TOS. I was thinking that it was an updated versions of them..but its not.
As for the sun thing..Like I said..I was not 100% on that one...The shot looked more like heat vapor from something like a jet engine. Again Gene R. made it clear that nothing should shoot out the back of the nacelle. That all I was saying.
I have to say for the effects part (Leaving out the design of the ships) the effects are very cool. You feel that the ships are huge. I have to say that I love the transporter effect.

Heat vapor... to me it looked like light flare combined with some weird out in out focus deal...
Besides, even if there is a visual disruption, it could always be magnetic or subspace field distortions of some type. Doesn't have to he "heat"...
There was some nice big radiator cooling like heat pipes on the aft end of the TOS nacelles, so there may have been "heat" back there even then, just not "flames".

What do you suppose that is? It doesn't look like part of the Kelvin or the Enterprise. But it doesn't look romulan either. Spocks time ship maybe?

It might be an "A." Though TOS shuttles had a number after 1701.

I thought it was pretty weak, myself. Hoping it's some sort of "temporal transporter" type effect instead of the real one.
That said, the bridge is starting to grow on me and the corridor looks good.

Or might the 'A' actually be a Starfleet delta? We've been seeing those everywhere.

Relax, it's just a red triangle.
And I think 'biggest glitch of all time' is a bit of an exaggeration. There have been many more that stand out, such as Leia knowing her 'real' mother.

+1 That was a strange transporter effect. Also, that seemed like an odd position to be beaming down in, no? Could he have been beaming up and they reversed the film? They had some other funky effects (rotating camera angles, reversed film sequences) so that would seem at least possible.
