HEROES last episode?

Is this really the last episode until next fall? And if they haven't announced HEROES is coming back (have they?) could this realliy be the last episode ever???

Given how horrible NBC's ratings are across the board, the international appeal of the show, and the need to fill even more timeslots after the 10pm Leno Show imploded, I'm actually expecting the show to get renewed... with an even smaller budget! If you thought S4 was missing action... wait till you see next year!

yah, I read an interview with a NBC exec who said they fully expect Heroes to be back next year.

That would be interesting to read - got a link?

I have no idea what the writers would do with another season. They have been out of ideas for most of the cast for a long time now. The only ones they seem to have any viable story for are
Peter and Sylar, now that they have become best buddies by virtue of having been trapped in the Twilight Zone for countless years
which is, weirdly enough, a plot twist I almost sort of can buy. Certainly compared with the ridiculous crap they've thrown at us in the past. :rommie: But if they get an S5, we'll be counting the minutes until
Sylar goes squirrely again.

Heroes will probably return for at least a 13 episode final season though its far from sure. I can see Heroes becoming a 10pm show to fill up a slot for 13 weeks.

Well, during the commercial breaks tonight NBC was definitely advertising a new season.

And about the ending tonight.. Oh boy, this looks familiar.

It ended very strangely, tho'. Made it look like...

...Samuel can't do anything at all without the others being near him. I thought he had at least SOME degree of control over the earth and soil even without the others.

I agree...was this Samuel's big finale? Big deal. Some scenes were obvious filler...but doesn't negate the fact that Knepper did great..I could see him as the Joker

That wasn't the Twilight Zone. Peter's glasses didn't break after finding a library full of books and no 8 foot tall aliens tried to eat them.

No they didn't.

They advertised new ONLINE content. Nothing was said about a new series of TV episodes, and there's been no such decision made yet.

Just how popular is HEROES now in foriegn countries? - the latest ep shown on the BBC got it's lowest ratings ever.

^Time timeslot change hasn't helped. 9pm on a Wednesday tends to do better than some random time late on a Saturday.

^ Some random time on a Saturday night opposite Match of the Day, no less. I expect a fair few people watch one of the repeats or view on iplayer at their leisure. Very strange timeslot to put it in.

For those outside the UK, a show put up against Match of the Day on a Saturday night can pretty much forget about the young male audience.

I still think NBC is so desperate they want to reach 100 episodes and be done with it. That was NBC can go "Well we had Heroes on for a successful 5 year run, that ended naturally" or something equally as lame. NBC will try to brag about anything at this point.
