Nathan- I propose some sort of mutant registration act that will lead to civil war

President- Okay even I know that's laying it on thick

Why didn't Claire just shoot him instead of putting glass in his head?
I don't think that would have been as effective.

So Dorn is playing the President? Nice.

I think that Vol. 4 will work, actually. It looks like everyone is going to have to work together this time, good and bad, to deal with the government going after the 'powered' (ala X-Men).

I guess Nathan really is evil now then...betraying everyone else with powers and sicking the government on them...

Average at best. There's some entertaining stuff here...

-Pure chaos
-Sylar's game and his brief duel with The Puppet Master
-Sylar interrogating Angela. Quinto was terrific here.
-The epilogue with Michael Dorn as president. He should have uttered some Klingon line about death.
-Ando being the one with powers while Hiro has noe.

That being said...this episode was a clusterfuck and a train wreck. It continues to feel like they're throwing shit on the wall and hoping something sticks. Motivations are as hazy as anything. Peter, Mohinder, and now Nathan remain stupid. I can't say I'm looking forward to Volume Four.

Yeah, I doubt Sylar's dead.

I'm glad Nathan's story is finally "going somewhere." Although he STILL never bothered to say, "You shot me, Pete! You son of a bitch!" But I guess they're even, now, as Peter saved his life.

Why do Tracy and Mohinder even exist? Contracts? They're just so completely worthless.

Although the next volume looks promising as some kind of apocalyptic nightmare, I really doubt they'll pull it off. But Nathan's begging to be shot (again) with his Robert Kelly impression.

bummed about Meredith. I liked her. And no way Sylar's dead...

well if theyre gonna make Nathan the antagonist next volume, I hope he doesnt fall into cartoonish evil mode like Arthur. I hope he keeps his grayness. And if theyre breaking him up with Tracy they might as well bring his wife & kids back...

Dorn as Prez is awesome...

I have a feeling I'll be in the minority, but I think that this episode was great! I also have a feeling that this season is going to be one of those that looks a hell of a lot better when in a DVD Binge than by episode- -particularly Sylar's byline. Obviously he'll be back- -they wouldn't dangle his parentage in front of us like that if they didn't have a plan to bring him back--but I suspect he'll be gone for quite a few episodes, so he makes a big comeback. Having Claire off him was appropriate, I thought. I think that in retrospect, though it was cloying, annoying, and sometimes insulting, in the end, the Sylar-As-A-Goodie storyline actually did what it was supposed to- -it explored and fleshed out the character. It was just a little too bumpy to do it well--particularly his big turnarounds--but you actually felt for him in the end when he was screaming for Angela to prove that everyone ISN'T like him.

ANd of course then he gets stabbed in the head. So if/when he comes back, yeah, he'll see it as proof of the other way...

So Peter got his powers back- -saw that coming. Hiro didn't, which I didn't see coming. THough I don't want it to stick around, I like the idea of Hiro being powerless for a while.

Also, Nathan's "I'm not afraid of anything." line was probably one of the most badass moments in this entire show. And a defining point for his character. That was awesome.

And now Worf is president! Things are going to get pretty interesting...

It's funny, Nathan and Peter are both equally weak, personality-wise. They just get pulled in different directions. Peter seems to believe in the basic goodness of people, and Nathan leans more toward everyone having an evil streak, so they must be controlled.

That's a little too much to expect from the Heroes' writers. I realize that not a great deal of time is supposed to have passed since the season began, but by keeping the Petrelli brothers separated for so long onscreen, the writers have missed the opportunity to really connect the dots in a satisfying way with the brothers. If groundwork had been laid showing Nathan having any sort of plausible emotional reaction to Peter shooting him (instead of "finding God") I could buy his behavior now as some sort of PTSD/irrational emotional response to losing faith and trust in his brother, who was supposed to mean the world to him until the end of last season. (Remember the love fest when Peter finally found his brains about Adam and the virus all because he trusted Nathan?) Having a family member shoot you, presumably one with whom you're very close, would be traumatic for anybody.

But the writers didn't lay that groundwork. Nathan's sudden contempt for Peter and the other powered people seems too much. He's going to have them hunt and lock up Peter and Claire, his own daughter?

Hmmm...well I give this episode an Average. If this was season 1 of Heroes it'd be a poor, but this episode is another mediocre Season 3 episode (average for Season 3).

I now only care about two characters in the Heroes universe: Sylar and Worf. It was only one character until Michael Dorn showed up, but that casting choice single-handedly convinced me to give Volume 4 a chance (well, that and Bryan Fuller returning). I was hoping that Sylar would kill everyone this episode, starting with Claire, but sadly no main character bit the dust. In season 1, HRG was my favourite character, but now I wouldn't mind seeing him killed off. What did Heroes do to my favourite characters?

I don't know why I'm asking this, but why is Nathan all of a sudden evil and wanting to kill his brother? Just two episodes ago they still had that brotherly love thing going. I could really care less who wins in the brother showdown that's being set up for the seaosn finale, I can only hope that they both die simultaneously in a horrible, painful death that also kills their past selves so they don't show up in a later episode when Hiro jumps into the past.

I know it was said upthread, but I'll repeat it for emphasis. Why is Mohinder and Tracy still in this show? Ali Larter should have been written out of the show after Season 1, and Mohinder after Season 2. These characters serve no purpose other then for the actors to collect a paycheck each week for doing nothing.

I really hope Bryan Fuller can save this show, but unless he's writing every episode, I doubt that this show can be saved. But I'll be optimistic and keep watching, if only to see my two favourite characters: Sylar and Worf.

I have to say that there was virtually no reason to bring back Ali Larter to play a new character. Tracy was a bad character who became very one-dimensional very quick.

I think that Mohinder can still be salvaged, although it's going to be tough.

I agree. Ali Larter should have not been brought back after Nikki was killed in Season 2. Though I was intrigued the first couple of episodes she was in this season, Tracy turned out to be a waste of screen time.

I have no faith in the writers, except Bryan Fuller, but he doesn't start until somewhere around episode 20.

Nathan is totally out of left field.
The whole first season lead up to (among other things) Nathan redeeming himself. I wish Peter could have at least tried to remind him of that .
