Does Angela's comment about putting Gabriel up for adoption strike anyone as odd? He must have been born inbetween Nathan and Peter, and Nathan most likely would have been old enough to recall that Mommy was pregnant.

Did the family think she had a miscarriage at the hospital? Why ditch Gabe? Did she see the future and realize he would be a "bad seed"? I'd been assuming that she (and presumably Arthur had some say in this) sent Gabriel someplace where he might be less dangerous - the watchmaker was part of the Company, assigned the task of making Gabriel as innocuous as possible. Turned out to be an impossible task but nobody would have known that at the time.

For Gabriel just to be randomly adopted strikes me as bizarre. OTOH, perhaps Angela was trying to protect her son, who she knew would end up on Level Five sooner or later, once the truth about him were known. She really didn't want to know where he went after being adopted - that's the best way to hide him.

So the tragic implication here is that the "problems" represented by Gabriel and Elle were handled in opposite ways, yet both turned out bad.

She's lying. She's not his mother at all. She's bullshitting him because she thinks that if she gets him under control what she saw in her dream won't happen.

My bet is Gabriel is not her son. I'm guessing of course, but I'm under the impression that Ma used the Power of Persuasion to convince him. Convincing him she's his mother, that he didn't actually kill his real mother, and that his murderous actions are an uncontrolled urge due to his "specialness", is all just part of manipulating him toward her ends.

The episode. Claire has always been the weakest point in the show for me. It doesn't help that each season they devote energy and screen time to building up another school chum to be her buddy or love interest, just to suddenly wipe it away at the beginning of the next. The writers may have realized her wheels were spinning, but I'm unconvinced by the transformation and uncomfortable with the sexual assault overtones.

Hiro and Ando still amuse me and I like Daphne well enough. She makes a good foil without losing the comedic tone. Since I have long accepted that H&A are just there to pop up wherever the plot needs moving along or a light touch is required, I just roll with it when they make shoulder shrugging decisions.

I would like to see Micah in play. If written well, he has the single most interesting power on the show. I'd like to see Monica too - also has a great power - although she is probably surplus at this point, and I rather she disappear than be crammed in without any real purpose.

Above Average.

At least we didnt have to see Rodeo Drive Maya. Ive thought about it and thats what irks me abut her character. She is suppose to be a poor runaway from Mexico or some where South of the Border and yet every scene she is in she is wearing expensive looking brand new clothes. It doesnt make sense and it looks stupid. I know they are trying to make her hot...and she is. But they should throw in some explaination that shes a kleptomaniac too. Otherwise how could she afford those clothes.
And Daphne...Did she get her name cause she runs like a duck? Thats funny...

She's from way souther than Mexico. I forget which, but it's mentioned, and probably in her wikki... But Poor? Look at the size of her brothers wedding? Some one had enough money to feed a couple hundred guests. father of the bride maybe? But why would he let his daughter marry a pauper? Unless she had been knocked up by some one even worse?

Maybe Maya is a lot younger than she appears? Although even as a ten year old, i'd probably notice how thick she was. Her level of insipid princessness would more likely be explained by being rich and living in an ivory tower or being 5.

She's from the Dominican Republic. Except they keep saying she's from South America. Which is another example of terrible writing.

^Dania Ramirez is, doesn't mean her character is Dominican any more than it means James Kyson Lee is Japanese. Shalim Ortiz is Puerto Rican.

Yeah, we saw her brother's wedding with family in the Dominican Republic. Then they headed south into South America and worked their way north, I believe.

If she had money dont you think she could have used it to buy a ride to America? Maybe on a boat or plane? It Makes NO sense that she is wearing designer clothes and shes a runaway...
Its kinda like modern westerns where the cowboys wear nice white starched shirts all the time in the desert. They must not sweat. Looks good on camera but is totally unrealistic...

Okay, doing a bit of reading I've figured it out.

After the wedding, Maya ran away and Alejandro followed her. She ended up in a convent in Venezuela where Alejandro found her. They were forced to run again because she killed (?) the police officer about to arrest her.

They must have traveled north to Columbia, then through Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.

Having money, however, does not mean that she could just fly to America as if she was on holiday. She and Alejandro were wanted fugitives throughout much of South America. She possibly was, however, carrying money to pay for her and Alejandro's transport. She later ran in to Sylar and stole the car which meant she no longer needed to spend that money.

Also, it's entirely possible Mohinder gave her some money to buy new clothes. I doubt the Company has him on minimum wage.

She and Alejandro were wanted for murdering the entire wedding party, so they had to keep a low profile.

^As well as a police officer and possibly some nuns in Venezuela.
Right. I just meant they couldn't just hop on the first plane out of the Dominican Republic. They probably stowed away on some ship when they fled the DR (can't remember if it was ever explicitly stated how they left).

They did so separately. Maya ran away and Alejandro went after her.

Ah! Thanks. Season two was a long time ago, and that particular storyline wasn't all that memorable to me. :p

Here's a sneak peek clip of episode 4.

episode 4

At the risk of scaring a few folks off, it's adorable. From what I can figure, since we've seen a shot of a distraught Tracy jumping off what looks like a ledge in the previews, Nathan must have caught her. The suits finally figured out that Larter and Pasdar spark.

Why does everyone keep saying Angela has persuasion power? We learned last week that her power is her precognitive dreams.
