Help With a Nutjob Phone Stalking a Woman

I don't know if anybody can help, but there is this woman in a horrible relationship which I won't go into the details about, who has a iPhone looking type phone, where her husband -- which she plans to leave after the first of the new year -- is stalking her. Somehow he's able to see where she is, if she's stopped, if she's moving in real time with some kind of (I imagine, but could be wrong) GPS location means.

I know jack shit about iPhone, iPads, smart phone technology.

She suggested she could get a new phone, but I told her until we figure out how he's doing this, what's to stop him from doing it with the new phone.

Can anybody tell me where we even begin on figuring out how he's doing this and stopping it?

If I need to get a specific make/model, I'll ask next time I run across her.

Good, lord, what the hell. I neither said nor implied anything about hooking up. And for your information: I have ZERO interest. I am helping her out, out of the goodness of my heart.

And she needs to carry around a phone for work purposes -- she can't have throw away burner phones.

Factory reset the phone and delete all apps.

She's getting a new phone, just found out. But since we don't know how he did it in the first place, what's to stop him from doing it again? Kind of need to know how to figure this out. I'm worried about this guy (I can't repeat stuff here) using her phone to track her after she leaves him, to harm her or any new guy.

Make sure to turn off anything on the phone that gives away its position, like GPS. Also it sounds like you guys need to speak with law enforcement.

Often with family plans, you can track the other family members' locations.

I'd recommend going with a different carrier for the new phone.

Keep airplane mode on at all times and only activate what you need for as long as you need it

Get a phone with a completely new account- number, apple id, all that, and yeah, get law enforcement and a lawyer involved. Document as much as she can to show she's being stalked.
