Help requested: 15 Minute TV Shows

Star Treks

Hi everyone. For boring reasons too complicated to outline here, I'm looking for a list (any list) of television shows that were shorter than half an hour (usually, 15 minutes). Specifically, fiction (e.g. non-news) shows. I can think of a few - Robot Chicken, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Tim & Eric Awesome Show - but I'm hoping to find a more complete list.

Any help is appreciated.

Well...there are some comedy shows that are 10-12 minutes...there's a British one called "Look Around You" that you can find on youtube.

Most of Adult Swim's lineup is in the 15-minute range. And yeah, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was broken into three 15-min (approx.) acts.

There were plenty of 15-minute shows in the '50s and '60s, before show lengths became standardized. Some were even shorter. Back when Comedy Central was The Comedy Channel, they showed all sorts of weird old stuff, including a mini-detective show from the early '60s that was only 5 minutes -- a quick setup, then a break in which the audience had a chance to think over the clues and see if they could solve it, then a very brief coda giving the solution. I can't remember the name of it, though.

Here are some results of Googling for "15-minute TV shows":

In the mid-1950s, 15-minute TV shows weren't unusual. Networks usually split an early-evening half hour into two halves - one for news and the other for an entertainment show. In NBC's case, during the 1956-57 season, the 7:45-8:00 pm slot was filled by popular newsmen Huntley and Brinkley, while at 7:30-7:45, viewers saw Eddie Fisher on Wednesday and Friday, Jonathan Winters on Tuesday, Dinah Shore on Thursday, and Nat King Cole on Monday.

The show was also broadcast twice a week on the radio during the run of the TV show, resulting in a hectic schedule for its crew. A week of Space Patrol involved 5 local 15-minute TV shows, 2 radio shows, and the half hour Saturday network show. An estimated total of 210 Saturday half-hour shows, 200 radio programs and at least 900 fifteen minute TV shows were broadcast during the run of the show.

Back when both television and I were young, there were 5, 10, & 15 minute TV shows. The whole premise behind this was to allow advertisers to squeeze in more commercials in a 30 minute time slot. Most of these early TV shows were hosted by local talent. If you played the organ and could come up with a sponsor to pay for 5 minutes of airtime, chances were pretty good you'd be on local television. Most of the early Soaps were 15 minute shows, done live every day in front of the cameras.

Lash La Rue ... was a star of B-grade Western movies in the 1940's and those movies were recycled into 15-minute TV shows which aired during the first 4 months of 1953.
