Help me name a Starfleet science vessel

The USS Imhotep
The USS Archimedes
The USS Alcubierre
The USS Planck
The USS Eratosthenes

As I recall, didn't they name some of the science vessels after astronauts, like the Grissom in ST:TSFS? You could call one of the vessels the U.S.S. Valentina Tereshkova (first woman in space) or the U.S.S. Guion Bluford (U.S. space shuttle astronaut, one of the first African-Americans in space). -- RR

USS Rosenberg.
As in the Einstein-Rosenberg condensate?
I'm trying to come up with the most controversial scientist names I can think of.:p Of course, it's hard to top Von Braun, real life's Baron Zemo.

You reminded me, though, USS Bose would be a good name. Probably already done in canon, though.

I don't think anyone has suggested the USS Turing, either. It could be tasked with tracking the path of V'Ger back to the machine homeworld. :D

Late to the party and far past the deadline, but I'll be my usual self and suggest:

USS Giuseppe "Beppo" Occhialini.

Which is awesome on so many levels. At least, from the point of view of my job. ;)
