As I recall, didn't they name some of the science vessels after astronauts, like the Grissom in ST:TSFS? You could call one of the vessels the U.S.S. Valentina Tereshkova (first woman in space) or the U.S.S. Guion Bluford (U.S. space shuttle astronaut, one of the first African-Americans in space). -- RR

Of course, it's hard to top Von Braun, real life's Baron Zemo.You reminded me, though, USS Bose would be a good name. Probably already done in canon, though.
I don't think anyone has suggested the USS Turing, either. It could be tasked with tracking the path of V'Ger back to the machine homeworld.
