"Why sell you on it? You like Trek. By the time the trailer hits and the TV spots are on, you'll be there on opening day with the rest of us."

Just because I like Star Trek doesn't mean I'm a lemming that will come when I'm called. :p I didn't see Nemesis because I thought it looked silly and I'm ultimately glad I didn't pay to watch the DVD. (Yes I have seen it.)

I don't understand why this attitude is so common. :(

 It's really rather nauseating.

Eh, I think calling us "lemmings" is a bit over the top. I mean, we're only talking $10 bucks to see a Star Trek movie-- one that only comes around every few years. Is that really asking too much of your time?

It always makes me laugh when people want to get all uptight and "principled" over a freakin 2 hour movie. :D

Tyson: These other guys gave you far better reasons than I'm going to give you but please do NOT disregard the wisdom in my words.

Look forward to this movie because . . . It's fuckin Star Trek! What the fuck else do you need? Motherfuckin-Kirk. Motherfuckin-Spock. Motherfucking-McCoy. Shatner. Nimoy. Strange new worlds. New lifeforms. New civilizations. Boldly going where no man has gone before. Fuckin' U.S.S Enterprise 1701 on the big screen. No bloody A,B,C,D or motherfuckin E! Count your blessings. After the failures of Voyager, Enterprise and Nemesis Trek deserved to die. You're privileged to be around at the start of a new golden age! Captain Kirk has returned to save Star Trek! Fuckin' enjoy it!

That's an order, son. :D : :D

There's really nothing anyone can say to make up your mind for you about a movie that hasn't even been made yet. If you go see the movie, try to go in there with an open mind, unlike some of the haters around here who decide in advance they're going to hate a movie then go see it anyway with the intent to hate every second of it, or vice versa the rah-rah fanboy who's determined to love every second of a movie.

Just remember why you like Star Trek in the first place. Also, as long as you're not one of those delusional people who think Star Trek is the pinnacle achievement in TV and movie entertainment history, you should be alright.
