Help me get TNG back on TV!

Oh, and Generations should be for free on Hulu.com :)

I've searched. Couldn't find it. Maybe I have to make an account or something?

It looks like they removed it since it isn't listed for Hulu plus (account required).

oh well

Off Topic question- I'm job searching and I came across a teaching job in Philly (Germantown). I've heard that Germantown itself is a rough neighborhood. Could you suggest some locations I should check out for an apartment?

Yeah, stay far away from Germantown. Too many hoodlums and thugs in that area. Southwest Philadelphia is a much nicer community.

Do local TV stations even show rerun of shows like STNG anymore? If so you'd have better luck asking the local station rather than the network.
If I may go a bit off topic here, when Disney released Power Rangers RPM back in 2009, ABC was the only channel that had the syndication rights to broadcast it. On top of that, not every ABC station aired it. Some stations aired it at 12:00 - 1:00 pm, others at 5:00 - 6:00 am, and some others not at all! My point in saying that is that I could see how one or some stations could air a show. But I would've thought that if a TV network airs a television show, every station across the nation would be airing it
Some stations on the network can opt out of programs, especially those not owned by the network. ABC is owned by Disney so its more likely the stations they own will broadcast their product. TNG is in reruns, so individual stations can buy it if it is available, no matter what their network affiliation is.

Sounds to me like you should raise an army to get BBC America in your area. You might have better luck.

No, it's not that. I have it in my vicinity. I just need a higher paying job and a cable-friendly monthly income... either that or to give up my internet connection for cable.

Does your cable company offer internet? Mine does. Saved a bundle by bundling cable/internet/phone.

$8 a month for Netflix and you can watch every episode of Star Trek ever made. I'm watching "Lower Decks" right now (man, that's a good one!)

I don't even want to watch Star Trek on cable anymore. I don't want to see the cut versions the cable networks air to fit in more ads than the show as designed for. Spike used to cut 2-3 minutes off each episode to be able to show more commercials.

It's just that it won't be the same when I'm just watching it on YouTube or the DVDs. Well, there are no commercials or any of that junk. I understand that. But it's free to watch em on TV. :p

Nothing in life is free.

Personally, I'm glad to have every episode and movie ever made (and in the case of TOS, BOTH versions) on DVD, most of which I was lucky enough to receive as gifts. This way I can see whatever I want, whenever I want, and yeah, no commercials.

I always fought trying to watch TNg on spike and such when it was aired and only seeing random espidoes I finally decided the best bet though expensive is to just buy the DVDS. Bought the silver boxsets of TNG this summer off ebay for like 230 bucks with shipping yes I know many people can't afford to shell out a ton for trek. However if you have netflix try that I guess but BBC is the only channel that airs as of now that i know of.

Funny how Spike used to a few years back air the crap out of trek series but then just stopped, now they air all the Star Wars movies nonstop lol.

Oh if you buy the dvds now DONOT buy the cube set I contemplated this when i got my boxed sets the silver ones are the original release and are much better quality packaging.

I'm waiting until the Blu-Ray sets start being released to rewatch TNG. The standard definition DVDs just look horrible on a HD TV.

While your entitled to your opinion in my experience I wouldn't say they look "terrible", they can actually look fairly good depending on if your blu ray has good upconversion etc. While its not the topic of the thread and I don't want to go on a huge spiel, yes the show is dated now and its the same video just about on the DVD's as it aired with no redmastered video or anything and yes it shows at times but by no means is it bad it can look dated but with upconversion I actually thought it looked pretty good at times on a HD tv which i've been watching the dvds recently on.

However at this point it may just be worth the wait for the blu ray, heck ill probably rebuy it on blu ray myself, but for those looking for it now netflix, or BBC america and I also remembered doesn't sci-fi channel occassionally air episodes?

I would much rather have Voyager or Deep Space Nine back on TV than TNG. TNG has been on TV pretty much non-stop since the finale.

I did have a question regarding the remaster though. Are those going to be on TV. I have the DVDs (And don't plan to get the remasters) but it would be good to watch the series in HD, kind of like what happened with Star Trek when they were coming out.

I am sure they will sell the syndication package, but keep in mind, even HD on cable isn't the same as 1080p bluray. And you may have to set your DVR (if you have one) to 3am, where a lot of stations aired TOS-R :)

I don't think there has been any official word on it but it would be very surprising if they didn't arange a new TV or Netflix deal. Why go to all the expense of remastering and not maiximize the revenue from it?
