Hello Y'all

Drew_ATL

Cadet
Newbie
Was never really a huge fan until the new movie but now I'm hooked - heard Nestor Carbonell may be the choice for Khan...but then again what do I know as a noob right?

Anywho I thought I'd see for myself so here is a rendering I did to get a better look.

Perosnally - acting chops aside - this guy could pull it off.

Nice to meet you all -

Nestor Carbonell as Khan:

Nice work! And welcome to the BBS; I'm curious -- how did you manage to post a picture without reaching 100 posts (or 50 posts or whatever the lower limit is...)?

I always liked Nestor (especially as "Bat Manuel" in "The Tick"). Khan is a Trek icon, but "Space Seed" never was my favorite episode. The movie is good; the Eugenics Wars books are good. Not a huge fan of Soong or Augments eps. But it is a quintessential Trek story, so I guess I will roll with it if they do it.

You know, I was actually thinking about Carbonell playing Khan, if they decide to go that way, last night !

I only remember seen him in Lost though so I can't say what kind of range he has as an actor.

NO KHAN! NO KHAN!!!!!! (Carbonell would be a good choice though. I've been seeing a lot of him lately. He's good.)

BUT NO KHAN!!! NO KHAN!!!

Welcome Drew~ i look forward to chatting with you. And i'm glad to hear that the new movie brought you into the fold!

Are you planning on watching any of the previous series?

Yeah I'm hooked - what a great reboot of the franchise, nice blend of humor too.

I do remember my Mother watching the Next Generation growing up - so yes, I do have some familiarity.

Looking forward to what's next for this particular universe / timeline in the Star Trek world.

When we were watching the DVD my mom actually said something pretty profound - "A great story never gets old."

So true for Star Trek. Hats off to Abrams.

NO KHAN! NO KHAN!!!!!! (Carbonell would be a good choice though. I've been seeing a lot of him lately. He's good.)

BUT NO KHAN!!! NO KHAN!!!

I tend to agree, while Khan is a great personal villian for Kirk; I think, like most villians, he's only a one note character... and that note has played itself out. We already have a great Khan TOS episode, and a great Khan movie. And with so much to explore from the series, and beyond, it would be a bit of a empty gesture to go back down the Khan route. He's already perfectly cemented in Trek lore as the quintessential Trek baddie, let him live and die in classic Trek and no where else.

Great photoshopping, Drew_ATL! I have to agree with the others who said, "NO KHAAAAANNN!!!!" I am ready for new adventures, boldly going where Trek has not gone before.

He's a newbie, so he gets a free pass on this one....oh wait, no. I'm jumping the bandwagon on this one, too:

NO KHAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeez. :D

On a lighter note....welcome to the forum. We're nice people!

Ditto the welcome. Gotta say having Khan in the next one is definitely tricky territory, at the least....we'll see...

I agree with Sector 7...Do we really need to go down the same path? I want all new story lines. We finally have come back to the "original cast", let's make the most of it.

I'm pretty solidly in the "no Khan" column, too--it's been done and then done again--but I wouldn't at all mind seeing Nestor Carbonell in a Trek movie, playing a different role.

Still a good manip, though, Drew_ATL.
