Helix - Season 2

Helix brought to you by Axe Body Spray

They really spread the pain around this week. And if Hatake wasn't proof enough that the crazy was back we get the return of Ballesteros. I just knew he was on the other end of that call.

Yeah, but the show is about a CDC team, so it makes sense that we'd continue to deal with viruses. We haven't gotten a lot of answers yet, but we're still early in the season, and I'm willing to give them time.
Actually, we're into the second season and still have fuck-all for answers. All we know is there's immortals running a company called Alleria, and for some reason they wanted everyone else to be infected zombies. Oh, and we also know the CDC hires the most incompetent clowns they can find, too.

That's pretty much it.

I really liked the first season. And the start of season 2 was kinda fun, but I think I'm done with this show now.

Some pretty big reveals in the last one. Not all at surprised Michael is a Silver Eye, I've pretty much been expecting that all season. Although it sounds like there's a chance he's not part of Iaria. Apparently there was a specific event that created the Immortals, judging by Micheal's line about Sarah not being "there".
I really liked Alan and Peter's big confrontation, we've pretty much been building to that since the show started.
Looks like we'll get some more reveals next week.

I haven't really been keeping up on the thread. Sorry if it's been discussed already.

Is Caleb the guy in the future with Julia? I could definitely see him being Sarah's son.

This week was brutal...Michael murdered almost all of his followers. As bad as it was the worst part was when the kid spilled his cup of poison and Michael hands him a new one. Chilling.

Considering the multigenerational incest....he's pretty psycho.
Very sad about the boy..i was hoping he'd live.

i didn't get a chance to watch the whole thing...but definitley saw this part.

Are the modern day Ilaria thing and the 30 years in the future coming together?

The massacre of the followers was... unexpected. And that's what I really like in this show.
Can't wait for next episode.

Another shock this week:

Michael being found after 30 years being buried, then immediately dispatched!

Didn't shock or amaze or thrill anyone???

How many more episodes left?

It'll be nice to tie things together...but how would season 3 or 4 work? And how does the outside world in 30 years look, other than bad for immortals?

I thought Sarah was going to just paralyze the big guy during the spinal transfer and take her chances with the daughter (I'm horrible with the names). Then again she was completely stymied against the locked door that was 50% window.

i think she figured we would NOT be a big threat if immortal ... but the daughter would be dangerous.

OK...so Julia's now on the island, but she will think Alan will die...but in the future we'll most likely see him. Immortal? Or old?

^ I was thinking paralyze big guy and then attempt to overpower the daughter but maybe I'm thinking too much in physical terms. When I was watching it I was thinking what would I do to gain the upper hand.

I wonder how much population will be left by the end of the series. They've been pretty systematically dispatching of most of it. At least there shouldn't be many extras needed anymore.

I guess Amy is this season's Sergio, the annoying evil presence that won't go away. I think his token appearance was just to pass the torch.

I mentioned early on how restrained and sensible the series was in its early episodes but now were back to full on Helix madness. I saw comments by a user on io9 who states "You still do not understand the zen of Helix. There are no answers, only more questions." and "One does not ask what the point of something is in Helix.". And he I think to enjoy Helix you have to embrace the insanity and just let it wash over you and just laugh and enjoy the ride.

I was asked about the show. I said that you're about halfway into the season before you have any kind of idea what the heck is going on. Then you get an idea, aren't sure if you care, and keep watching anyway.

Well the season finale left it wide open for season 3 so if it doesn't get renewed we won't have any kind of closure. I know it is a quirky show but I enjoyed it.
