Well, it shows the absurdity of the laught track

To be honest, I think it shows how remarkably powerful a laugh track can be - I actually chuckled along at a couple of places (esp. after Riker's "can we blow it to pieces?"). Of course, in other places it doesn't work at all and that's jarring. But a good laugh track enhances in-built humour - Riker's line IS pretty funny from another angle, so that's why it works there.

The theme tune was totally cool.
