Speaking about cars, we can have another excellent argument that gives strenght to my theory:
In the 60s they had carburetors, and when the new fuel injection technology came out everyone disliked it because "those are not real cars, those are just means of transport with no soul"
Then electronic controls came in and the cars with those were disliked because "real car pilots don't use electric controlled cars". In this era the 80s cars that were so hated before became the new standard. None cared about carburetors anymore at this point.
Then electric propelled cars came in in recent years, and now it's the same argument "electric cars have no souls" and now apparently electric controlled cars are ok as long as the electricity is not their engine fuel.
Probably in 50 years there will be no more internal combustion engines in our cars, mainly because pollution will increase and governments will ban gasoline injection systems. You may not like it, but it's very likely.
Would a man from the 60s be able to determine this trend? I guess no, he couldn't. Especially if from the US that at the time had their own standards and their economy was not global nor suffering.
