heart transplant?!?! (spoilers)

It would have made more sense to give Connor a robot heart. The story could have been adapted to work around that idea.

When I saw it I thought that's what they did. So he has an artificial heart. That I could believe more than he has the living heart from Marcus, especially since it stopped earlier in the movie and JC pounded on M's chest to restart him. I thought his heart was dead and he was going on his robot heart.

Either way, the movie is shit, so who cares.

Way to go with putting the spoiler IN the title!

no one would know how a heart transplant could possibly figure in the story unless you watched it until the very end.

this is certainly far better than the "Spock and Uhura (SPOILERS)" threads in Trek XI.

But I'm sorry if my title gave something away for you.
Yea, the problem is you tell us in the title "heart transplant (spoilers)" and give no indication of what you are spoiling, so the natural reaction is to click on the thread to see what you are talking about at which point your second word is Terminator, Thus making your spoiler warning useless.

T4 was just like I Am Legend, a decent movie sabotaged by its ending. It's no surprise in both cases the endings were changed from the originally intended ones and leakers were blamed for it.

To which I have to say, why? Why are studios hacking up $100 million plus films because a few spoiler hounds found out about the ending on the internet? I don't entirely agree with the scripted ending but there's no denying it was bold, original and would have taken the series in a dramatic new direction.

:( Marcus gave up a part of the little remaining humanity he had left to save John. I thought it was sad & beautiful. I just hope it doesnt mean Marcus is dead. I want him back for the sequal(if there's gonna be one.)

I agree. I got teary eyed. Not gonna lie. I thought it was incredibly touching.

I hope Marcus lives too. If not, he had a great redemptive arc.

There'll be a sequel. TS will make its money overseas.

was dallas bryce howard's character the same woman from terminator 3?

I don't think she was even a character. I think she just kind of wandered into some shots and "McG" decided to keep her there because he couldn't be bothered to do reshoots.

Actually, most of her scenes were cut following studio pressure to trim 30 minutes from the run time, weren't they? Guess this one isn't all McG's fault. Sorry to disappoint.

cool. :)

Boy Terminator was not without it faults, but I went in with no expectations and didn't totally hate it for most of the movie. I kept thinking, "well, this is a technical achievement" and "yeltchin and worthington are saving this movie" but then the end. WTF?

a heart transplant between a cyborg and connor, conveniently to save connor's life ("his heart can't take it anymore") :vomit:. WTF were they smoking?

for one, let's hope that they have the same blood type, not to mention medication to prevent connor's body from rejecting the new heart.

let's hope they have some serious rehab facilities. let's hope they have access to some advanced surgical teams and facilities.

oh, wut? they don't?

oh, wut? the whole sequence treats the audience like imbeciles.

the movie could have been ok by me if it weren't for the most maudlin, sappy, stupid ending possible.

and then to top it off, connor intones, "it's what makes us human. our hearts." unreal. :vomit:
Thanks for spoiling the movie :(

The heart used by Marcus wasn't his natural heart: it was an artificial one created by Skynet for use in his new body. It beats faster than a human heart and was said to last for at least 120 years after it was activated. I used that as the reason why rejection wasn't an issue. Also, Army personnel perform emergency treatments - including surgery - in the field all the time so I didn't have many problems with this scene. They also have drugs in storage (that is from the novel though).

True, but you don't know what film the thread refers to unless you click on it, and by then it's too late.

Don't recall that being mentioned outright in the film. Is it in the novel or perhaps exists with the 30min of edited footage that McG said was pertinent?

Would for sure help those who insist this has to be E.R. instead of rolling with the fictional apocalyptic story.

In the version I saw Skynet informed him that his heart was enhanced. I have not bothered to see the theatrical version yet because I ended up having a work assignment on Saturday.

^ I'm becoming more and more interested in seeing these deleted scenes. A skillful director's cut could easily raise the film a notch for me.
