HD Finally!

I'm one of those people who doesn't notice too much of a difference between DVD and Blueray... yes there is a difference, but I don't think it's that much of a major leap to be ground breaking. It's just another way for the movie distributors to double dip, you've got in on DVD and now you need it on Blueray! I'll wait for the new fangled holographic versions thanks!

Still can't wait to see Doctor who in high definition, I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Ah, that'll be one of those "motionflow" settings, this frame interpolation shite that all the TV manufacturers are fellating themselves over right now. Waste of time IMHO. Watched Ghostbusters at a friend's house once who had it turned on and it made the damn film look like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Yeah, that was it I think. Just looked odd. Sony TV he's got. The fucker is huge.

It just needs a pair of curtains on front of the thing.

I think you're exaggerating, to be fucking huge it needs to be this thing.

Awesome to hear! However, is it a certainty that we will be getting a new TARDIS control room or will they merely be upgrading the current set? I think it would be awesome if we got a new set, but I wouldn't mind if the current one was just upgraded.

That's a big telly.

Well nothing is certain until it's announced, but it probably depends on the quality of the current set. If the current set was built to be able to hold up to HD resolutions then they can just use it. If not then they have to redo the set. At that point they can either copy the existing design or create a new design. But once they're going through the cost/trouble of rebuilding the set might as well make it new.

Agreed. Also, even in standard def I can see some ugly-ass joins on those tree-like column thingies that hold up the dome. I suspect the current set won't hold up in HD unless they choose their shots carefully.

Well didn't they say that was one of the reasons for not going HD sooner? They'd have to rebuild the TARDIS set, because it wouldn't hold up to HD.

Well much as I like the TARDIS control room I think they should take the opportunity to change the desk top theme :)

They should make it look like Windows 3.1, complete with Minesweeper running in a window.

Everyone knows the TARDIS is a pc. Sure, it's buggy, crashes all the time, needs to be kicked every now and then and the service support is atrocious, but it's still the greatest ship in the universe. :D

Yeah, service support has gotten worse since the
Gallifreyan Helpdesk stopped taking calls a few years back...:)
