HBO uhh.. THING yeah!

I miss the old days of the genre anthology shows. Tales from the crypt, outer limits, perversions of science, the hunger, red shoe diaries...
 
I'd love to see more anthology shows. Not likely, though, in these days of interminable arc-based storytelling.
 
I always get a kick out of these satirists who equate sexuality with childhood, as if it's something to grow out of instead of in to. After all these decades, our society still has issues with sex; that long history of religion will take a long time to get over.

Yes it still feels as though the souped up sexwise shows are that way in reaction to past and possibly present strictures on the topic. It would be nice to see the sexual element included because it was hot, rather than because it was a statement.
 
If HBO wants to do SF, they should contact Richard Morgan and adapt his Takeshi Kovacs trilogy, starting with Altered Carbon. Crazy violent and filled with sex. And some interesting story to boot.
