My ongoing club right foot saga continues folks...it's been another two or three months I think since my previous update and things have changed and not for the better. About a month and a half ago I started noticing that my heel was sliding to the right while my ankle shifted so that I'm essentially walking on top of the joint where the ankle meets the bone. I'm seeing the surgeon again next month for yet another assessment and set of X-Ray's and MIR's so hopefully he will be able to do something minor because the final alternative isn't pleasant...partial amputation. I'm at the point now where I just want this taken care of any way possible that will relive the immense pain that I experience every day.
On top of that I was supposed to get a custom made brace for the foot back in January but since I'm on welfare (due to the foot) I had to send a request to the ministry for approval for them to pay for the brace ($3500 Canadian) and they rejected it. So my parents and I went through the appeal process only to stumble onto some potentially good news in that I might have a high chance of qualifying for something they call Persons With Multiple Barriers which would give me full benefits in everything including a two hundred and fifty dollar increase in what I get monthly. Should get an answer from them on this sometime in the next few weeks...suffice it to say it has been an frustration few weeks. I do start my swimming lessons, just some touch up lessons to prepare me for aquatic physio that I'll be doing during the summer time. Oh...and on a fun but still foolish note, I'm falling for my therapist who already has a long term partner! The good thing is that we were able to have a mature discussion about this and got over it before anything potentially negative happened...lol. That's a big update...will of course let you guys know what happens after I see the surgeon after the 15 next month.
