^^^ There's a theory at TWOP that Chris just got the benefit of all the life-threatening excitement and adrenaline rush because...well, he was available. (In fact, I think Dave said something along those lines to Nathan earlier; that that could happen while Audrey and Chris were together...)
And I agree -- I don't see anything appealing in Chris, either. Pretty much all he did was whine about their date. Meanwhile, Duke risked his life to save her, and so did Nathan. (That may have been what really got Audrey going...too bad it was Chris in her room later.)
Also, I felt bad for Nathan when Audrey took Chris' hand and left him as odd man out.
Have fun getting by the vines on your own again! So much for partnership and gratitude.
I did get a huge kick out of her pitching the flowers into the drink, though. "I'll just put these in water..."
Splash.
Digits -- bummer! Um, let me see if I remember:
The aunt's brothers lied to her; it wasn't the ex-fiance who killed her little brother but the tree. Ex-fiance had tried to help him and gotten injured in the process. Audrey decides that love will calm the tree/vines down and gets the aunt and ex-fiance together again.
Nathan shows up at the barn all warrior-like with a flare tied to a hockey stick, but Audrey tells him she's figured it out and that love is the answer. She tells everyone to stay close to the two old lovers, but everybody pairs off and holds hands -- except for Nathan, who just has his hockey stick to rely on, since Audrey has inexplicably taken Chris' hand and neglected to offer her other hand to Nathan.
Evi accuses Duke of having a thing for Audrey ("I saw how you looked at her!"), but Duke says the real reason he's in Haven is because his dad made him promise to come back when the Troubles started again -- and then his dad died without ever explaining
why he was supposed to come back. So now he's stuck trying to find out what he's supposed to be doing there. So that's why he can't leave with Evi.
(I don't think it's really clear, but I guess he did end up selling the box to the aunt even though he said he couldn't? I'm still not sure what happened there. Surely he wouldn't sell the only clue he's got to the person who's supposed to kill him?)
Anyway, after Duke goes upstairs, Evi makes a call and tells Mystery Guy that Duke's dad never told him why he was supposed to come back to Haven. The plot thickens.
And you probably saw all this. I have no sense of time. :P
Chris shows up at Audrey's (awesome) new apartment over the Grey Gull. He hands her a bouquet, to which she responds, "Let me put these in water," and she opens the door and tosses them in the ocean. (It took me a split second, and then I cracked up.) Chris tells her he likes her place, and he likes the food, and that he likes her for her. Audrey proceeds to pull their clothes off.
Nathan is at the office (I can't remember -- did Dave and Vince deliver a parting shot here?). He contemplates that picture of Lucy and Duke at the Colorado Kid crime scene -- and after some thought makes a phone call.
Nathan's name comes up on Audrey's phone as the call rings through, but Audrey's a little busy...
