Haven Season 2: Discussion, Spoilers, Etc.

But if Audrey 2 is the doppleganger, what is the point? She drops in, looks around for a while, gets amnesia and leaves.
Well, that doesn't mean we've seen the last of her. Actually, I'm wondering if more Audreys will show up.

As for the story, I haven't read it, but I did research it. I'm wondering if the twin brothers are supposed to be the sons of the guy in the book. Stephen King did participate in the development of the show, so I'm figuring there should be a connection.

so does anybody have any idea what made audrey 2 lose her memory? and what was in the barn? get show I am so hoping that this will last longer the dead zone.

I think they're both the same question. Whatever she discovered in the barn is what lead to her amnesia.

And what's in the barn? We don't know.

Where is the barn now? We don't know that either.

Stay tuned.

Episode 2:4 airs tonight: Sparks and Recreation.

"When a deadly series of electrocutions occur, Audrey and Nathan investigate the cause."

Guest starring some wrestler guy, and Jason Priestly, of My Name is Earl fame...

;)

another good episode but no littery refrence in this episode that I could pick out.

Or the meaning of the tattoo in general; but it specifically has something to do with Duke (or, I suppose, his family).

The most interesting part of this episode, aside from the continued development of Evie and Duke's relationship, was the chief's "fixer." I hope he'll be at least a semi-regular.

The resolution of the main plot was a bit anti-climactic, though. What exactly are they going to do with Electro-Girl to keep her and everyone else safe?

I agree, that was an interesting twist. Who pays that guy?

They made some throw-away remark about being with people who keep her "grounded" (get it?). But yeah, the resolution is unclear.

Once again, it appears the Troubled either can't control their abilities or only use them in self-defense. The Rev refers to them as "the cursed". Are they possibly the decendants of the witches, or the decendants of those who burned them (thus being cursed)?

Black budget. :D

Some kind of curse seems likely. Tonight we saw the "trouble" pass on to the son after the father's death. Previously we saw a troubled artifact continue to be troubled centuries after the death of the guy who made it. The artifact that Duke found seems to fall into the same category.

I missed last weeks ep, did they show anything about what was in the barn? Also did Nathan do anything with his powers? (like how when he got hit with the nails & didnt feel it?)

^^^ Nope, no barn reveal. And I can't remember precisely, but I don't think Nathan had any thrillin' heroics last week...

BTW, tonight and for the next few weeks (or more?), the show will be running a concurrent portion of the story on Twitter. I don't have time right now to dig up the article and link it (sorry!), but I'm sure y'all can find it.

This week's homage: "Weeds" (or "The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill," as it was known in Creepshow). :D

I am so disappointed in Evie. :(

And Audrey, too, for that matter. :rommie:

The last couple of weeks have been OK, this show has a different vibe from most of Syfy's output which keeps things interesting.

That's too bad, I was hopin' that'd be the last Twitter reference on the show. Now excuse me while I step out for lunch at Red Lobster.

I was out of town last week, and my darling wife decided to reboot the DVR while it was recording Haven. So I was missing eight minutes.

Okay then...uh, killer tree roots? Hmm....

What's Evi up to?

What's the deal with the box?

Audrey can't possibly stay with 90210.

She must not be so immune to his "trouble" after all, because WTF does she see in him? Unless she was just so horny after a year of celibacy that she would have gone for anything.

^^^ There's a theory at TWOP that Chris just got the benefit of all the life-threatening excitement and adrenaline rush because...well, he was available. (In fact, I think Dave said something along those lines to Nathan earlier; that that could happen while Audrey and Chris were together...)

And I agree -- I don't see anything appealing in Chris, either. Pretty much all he did was whine about their date. Meanwhile, Duke risked his life to save her, and so did Nathan. (That may have been what really got Audrey going...too bad it was Chris in her room later.)

Also, I felt bad for Nathan when Audrey took Chris' hand and left him as odd man out. Have fun getting by the vines on your own again! So much for partnership and gratitude.

I did get a huge kick out of her pitching the flowers into the drink, though. "I'll just put these in water..." Splash. :D

Digits -- bummer! Um, let me see if I remember:

The aunt's brothers lied to her; it wasn't the ex-fiance who killed her little brother but the tree. Ex-fiance had tried to help him and gotten injured in the process. Audrey decides that love will calm the tree/vines down and gets the aunt and ex-fiance together again.

Nathan shows up at the barn all warrior-like with a flare tied to a hockey stick, but Audrey tells him she's figured it out and that love is the answer. She tells everyone to stay close to the two old lovers, but everybody pairs off and holds hands -- except for Nathan, who just has his hockey stick to rely on, since Audrey has inexplicably taken Chris' hand and neglected to offer her other hand to Nathan.

Evi accuses Duke of having a thing for Audrey ("I saw how you looked at her!"), but Duke says the real reason he's in Haven is because his dad made him promise to come back when the Troubles started again -- and then his dad died without ever explaining why he was supposed to come back. So now he's stuck trying to find out what he's supposed to be doing there. So that's why he can't leave with Evi.

(I don't think it's really clear, but I guess he did end up selling the box to the aunt even though he said he couldn't? I'm still not sure what happened there. Surely he wouldn't sell the only clue he's got to the person who's supposed to kill him?)

Anyway, after Duke goes upstairs, Evi makes a call and tells Mystery Guy that Duke's dad never told him why he was supposed to come back to Haven. The plot thickens.

And you probably saw all this. I have no sense of time. :P

Chris shows up at Audrey's (awesome) new apartment over the Grey Gull. He hands her a bouquet, to which she responds, "Let me put these in water," and she opens the door and tosses them in the ocean. (It took me a split second, and then I cracked up.) Chris tells her he likes her place, and he likes the food, and that he likes her for her. Audrey proceeds to pull their clothes off.

Nathan is at the office (I can't remember -- did Dave and Vince deliver a parting shot here?). He contemplates that picture of Lucy and Duke at the Colorado Kid crime scene -- and after some thought makes a phone call.

Nathan's name comes up on Audrey's phone as the call rings through, but Audrey's a little busy...
