Have you turned your A/C on yet?

No, as a matter of principal I won't turn it on till at least memorial day. Unless it really is crazy hot.

But usually the first spike over 75 degrees only feels hot because I'm not used to it. I force myself to acclimate to the warmer weather. That, and I prefer open windows and doors. I get all depressed when I have to shut myself in the house over the winter, so as long as it's warm enough, I keep everything open so I can feel like "part of the world"

Nope, no way I'd consider turning the air conditioning on now that winter is less than a month away :p. And besides, the only air conditioning I have is inside my car. During summer I have all the windows in my room open and the fan running, that's cold enough 99% of the time.

No, don't have one. I just open up windows and the air flows trough. If it's REALLY fucking hot then I have some fans lying around. On of them is on x-box cooling duty during the warm months.

AC has been on here since mid-April. I am a cold-weather person and I can't stand the combination of heat and humidity down here in Atlanta.

How many of you in humid areas run a dehumidifier? As I stated earlier, I grew up in the Great Lakes region and we didn't have A/C, only fans, open windows, or else the dehumidifiers. My parents would run one in the basement all summer, making an already cool basement very habitable.

It's been seasonably temperate here in WI, so we've had the window's open, but haven't even thought about the AC. I'm hoping things will stay this way until June.

Nope, I haven't turned it on yet. As long as it's not too hot, I prefer to have my window open. And it only gets up to 24C (75F) during the day at the moment, so I'm good for now.

Had to yesterday. Hubby had been in the hospital and got home Wednesday. he wanted to go out and see hiis tomato plants, on the first day to hit 90, in the sunny backyard that faces west in the full heat of the afternoon, in a black tee shirt.

Getting him back to the bedroom in a wheelchair (which he hadn't needed to get outside) and cooled down was not a fun time.

Will be turning it off as the weekend is supposed to cool down. I love open windows and the fans. Wish I had more windows.

Mine was on a couple of weeks. It's been cooler this past week, so it's not been running. I have to set it approximately 76 degrees Farenheit to keep myself and my guinea pig comfy. :D Piggies can start showing signs of heatstroke above 75 degrees Farenheit. That's why I tuned it on a couple of weeks ago. Said guinea pig got a little too warm. She didn't go into heatstroke but she was drinking more and laying around. She is much more comfortable now. :D As for the gerbils; they don't seem to care. They just tunnel and run up into their tank toppers as usual.

Nope. Where I am we had snow this morning. Though it was 21C last Wednesday and will be back up around 18C by Monday. Opening the windows is working just fine.

We had 5 straight days of 90 degree weather a few weeks ago. Its been in since but only used once since then.

No A/C. Windows in the bedroom open, front door open, the house is a balmy 65F. Beautiful.
