Have you ever orderd from amazon.com?

I've ordered books from Amazon on many occasions, have had no issues. That it's so often cheaper to import books from the United States than buy them locally is vaguely disconcerting. I only wish they'd stop spamming me.
Okay is that common? the ''spaming'' ? if I bought some left / right wing books ( I like to keep up on the politics of both sides) would I get automaticaly start geting left/right e-mails?. Or if I bought some manga or comic books would I get a bunch of spam from the publishers?:vulcan: Sorry I'm asking so many questions, but I'm new to buying off of amazon.

Not common. I buy stuff from Amazon US 1-2 times a month and don't get any emails from them other than confirmations for things I've ordered.

Note: Always choose "Group my items into a single shipment" on checkout. They'll usually still break it up into multiple shipments if there's any advantage to it, but they won't charge you for doing so----which they will do if you choose the "Ship my items as they become available" option.

You can opt to receive *no* email from them at all. Apparently I did that some time in the past because I can't remember the last time I got something from them that wasn't directly related to an order. I just checked and that's how my account is set.

I use them all the time. One problem that was resolved in 4 hours after an email. Even than, it was a minor issue.

I use Amazon.com & Amazon.co.uk all of the time and started doing so in 1998 or so. I've never had a bit of problem with either. I have also used Amazon Marketplace to buy out of print & used books & DVD's.

I was thinking about ordering some books, but before I do I want to know if anyone on the bored has? & how the experiance was? was the shiping fast? did they ever screw up a order? how dependible are they?

I order from Amazon regularly. Just be sure to recognize that Amazon also sells used and refurbished items from independent merchants. In all my transactions I had one mistake, but they were incredibly accommodating and responsive in correcting it.

This is great advice. I always group into a single shipment, and they still often send me 1-2 items right away if there's a hold on anything else.

Yes, I've bought from amazon.com several times and have not had any problems. :) Everything arrives either before or on time.:) They're very realiable.

I've ordered several Star Trek books from them in the past, including the TPB of Countdown. Been satisfied every time!

Lots of times. Never had any trouble that they didn't correct quickly upon notification.

Once a package just failed to arrive---the tracking information said it was delivered and signed for, but I never got it. I called up Amazon and got a service rep who said they'd look into it. For some reason---I forget why now---I called a second time, and this time I got a different service rep who simply said they'd ship the order again at no charge.

I order from both amazon.com and amazon.co.uk all the time. I order from amazon themselves and also from the marketplace. I've never had a problem with amazon, and on the two occasions I had problems with sellers over the marketplace amazon promptly refunded me no-questions-asked.

Great, now what am I supposed to complain about?

WOW! Amazon sounds very reliable, THANKS a BUNCH!:D ''K-Star'' funny you should say Countdown, that's one of the books I intend to order. Also thanks for the tips whenever I order anything!

I think you are one of the very few Amazon holdouts. I have ordered from amazon.com and amazon.co.uk without problems. I've ordered books, DVDs, games, tools, the works.

Very few apparently! I have been doing Ebay for a long time now, but I am looking for other places to buy my stuff now! Too many idiots are on ebay and it drives me nuts when they screw up and I have to pay for there screw ups!

I've ordered tons of stuff from Amazon.com over the past decade - not only here in the U.S., but from Amazon.uk as well (mainly classic films that have come out only in R2).

Never had a problem that wasn't immediately corrected by Amazon. Even the internationally shipped items arrived no problem.
