I'm having trouble coming up with an example here. If I get weepy at the movies, it stands to reason that the movie must have engaged me emotionally, which means it had to have something going for it.
Mind you, there can an external factors. One is bound to be more emotional after, say, a death in the family or a bad break-up or whatever. I recently got all weepy at a stage production of A Christmas Story, but that was probably because my parents had passed away so the nostalgic family Christmas stuff kinda snuck up on me from behind.
"Hey, why can't I stop crying?"
