Answer - no, there isn't, not in Star Trek (just some egotistical computers). I believe Gene Roddenberry made a canon-defining statement about this around 1988. ;-)

Captain Pike had a "captain's hat" in his quarters in the original TOS pilot, but it was never worn or developed further than a concept and something momentarily seen in the background.

When the film comes out, we really need a thread to compare all the hats in Star Trek history. From the caps of Enterprise, the security guard helmets of TSfS, Guinan's, Kai Winn's...where will the hats of XI come in this proud tradition?


Oh, and if Eric Bana wears an Akubra as part of a clever disguise, mark this film down as a five-star classic NOW.

Like someone said earlier. The Hat is not part of the uniform. What are the chances that JJ Abrams told the extra to do this because he knew it would leak? Or she forgot to put her robe on. Notice she starts running in the pics. She probably realizes that she's in the open with her uniform on, and starts to run before she's spotted.
