A fairly fun episode, though the character interactions are goofier than I expected. We get more exposition, but still a lot of mysteries, and a cliffhanger ending. The highlight is a really big truck/motorcycle chase sequence -- they pulled out all the stops. We haven't seen much motorcycle action in Kamen Rider in recent years due to stricter laws in Japan, so this was impressive to see.

Nem knowing she's in a dream, and appearing in everyone's dreams, merely furthers my conviction that she's not just a celebrity but will turn out to be key to the season's mysteries and story arc.

The livestream wasn't commercial-free like it was for the premiere of episode 1, but they've tweaked it so that the commercial and the episode stream appear in adjacent boxes, and you can skip the ad after 5 seconds and rewind a bit. It would still be better if they could just pause the stream for the ads (if we had to endure the ads at all), and ideally insert them at the proper act breaks in the episode.

Welp there goes the budget for the bike scenes. They packed most of the tropes into this episode with a decent sequence for the bike in the tunnel. They also did a henshin on the bike.

Also Bundario from Boomboonger is back as a bike

It was bit confusing how Baku entered the base AWAKE and then entered the base ASLEEP

I wonder if we'll get a real world fight scene. So far it's been in the dream but filmed practically. A virtual wall would have been EXPENSIVE to convey the dream world for a whole year

No opening yet. Probably saving it for the 3rd episode. I HOPE they're not saving it for the October 8th cd release date for maximum promotion. That would be a downer. It's a long way from now.

When Zeztz rode out of the explosion, did I hear the Cyclone engine sound effect from the original Kamen Rider? No surprise, since Zero/Code Zeroider strongly evokes Cyclone's color scheme.

Apparently the base exists both in reality and in the dream world. He had to fall asleep to re-enter the dream world for the battle.

It's not unlike how Kamen Rider Wizard approached the Phantom battles inside the Gates' minds.

I expect the action will move into the real world eventually. We've already got the driver and the base appearing in reality.

Yeah, that surprised me. Usually the title sequence debuts in episode 2.

We’re at zero one level of waiting for the opening. It might not even debut till episode 4!

The official blog gives some details.

-The motorcycle noise by the Jay Kabira was improvised.

-The first three episodes are like a trilogy leading up to episode 4 being the actual first episode in a sense

“Mo” is a translation quirk of Baku’s name
