Has the Trek EU Ever Directly Contradicted Canon? (Outside of Countdown)

Ha! Thanks. I didn't even specify Australia, but Google was being extra helpful. Australia had a six-month delay on the ST III premiere. I forgot that ST V was a big gap, too.
Good old pre-internet days. Usually, the big blockbusters played North America first, although Superman II came out in Australia and parts of Europe six months before North America (in the UK it was an Easter release).

Yes. Even now, we can have odd delays.

The ST III premiere was held back for the construction of a new cinema complex (they wanted to premiere it at the cinemas' opening). In the end, the complex wasn't ready until ST IV, which we got only a few weeks late.

And yeah, that "Superman II" advance release (test marketing?) was sweet. The line from Luthor spinning the globe and claiming Australia got a huge cheer!

ADDED: Just remembered why the ST V gap didn't seem so long. A Brisbane-based convention ("Conquest '89") had a special gala advance preview (September?), which made the wait for the Sydney premiere more bearable.
