HAS BEEN/other vocal TREKS

I read that article this week about a ballet company creating a performance around Shatner's Has Been...well, I dunno about the ballet aspect, but I broke out my HAS BEEN CD and listened to it..and you know what? I still like it. I think HAS BEEN and REAL and WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE and I CAN GET BEHIND THAT and LOVE FAMILIER are great spoke word songs.

So it got me to thinking. I know Spiner put out an album, I never heard it though, and I know Avery sang a couple times on DS9. I don't count James Darrin because he is a singer (who I saw in concert two years ago here in San Diego, and he was great)...but have any of you heard any other TREK stars try to sing? Nimoy's Bilbo Boggins song is, well, just as interesting as Shatner's Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds...What I am asking is can any of them REALLY sing????

By the way...Scott Bakula sang a couple weeks ago on Boston Legal and I actually liked what he sang.

Scott Bakula is an excellent singer. He used to sing fairly regularly on Quantum Leap and many of those songs were included on the QL soundtrack album. Good stuff!

But Nimoy hasn't just done "Bilbo Baggins". IIRC, he had five (!) albums. And on some of those songs his voice is really good. I love his renditions of "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town" and "Everybody's Talkin'". And his spoken words bit "A Visit To A Sad Planet" is veeery good. He has a very warm voice.

Haven't heard them. They should put out a STAR TREK GREATEST HITS collection. Of course, Mr. Tamborine man would have to lead it off!!! No, just kidding. But Has Been should be on that album, along with some of the others, RYAN-PICARD-NICHOLS, and Nimoy as well....

And the last track? They should take Star Trek V's ROW ROW ROW YOUR BOAT and have Puff Daddy add some sound effects, and make a dance track out of it!!! Yeah dawg!!!

I think Tim Russ has done a few albums. The video for one of his songs ("Kushangaza"?) is a special feature on the Voyager Season Two set.
