It is good to hear he is relatively okay. I say relatively because a week without power is enough to make one slightly mad.
When Hurricane Gloria hit we were out of power for 8 days. I was a fucking madwoman by that last day.
I was out of power for.... yep, you guessed it - that entire weekend. I've only been through 2 hurricaines (Gloria in Norwich, Ct. and Bob on Cape Cod) and both landed on Friday mornings
Oh well, its better than 8 days. And I didn't die 
Poor AS has now been offline for 12 days. By this time, he's either written a novel or gone completely insane.

I'll bet when next we see him he'll be posting in the "Moar Pics" thread with him looking like Rupert on "Survivor"; in the "What did you have for dinner last night" thread with recipes for braised muskrat; and in the "your most recent purchase" thread touting his savvy negotiating skills in acquiring a Gilligan's Island style raft with a 30 year old 15 HP Evenrude motor and 2 gallons of gas.

I hope he can get back soon, not just for his safety, he makes a living from the 'net, so it's gonna hurt him financially as well.
^^ I was thinking that, too. And more financial hurt is not what he needs right now.
i have a friend who is being affected by that also though they are adpating by going to one of the many places that offer free wi fi.
i hope astro smurf has the ability to do this and we are not seeing him because his limited time to access the net is because work comes first.
i do think that is one thing lacking as far as i know.
a place where people who are dependent on the net for business can go and have not just net access but fax also.
