Has anyone ever compiled information on DS9's deleted/unfilmed scenes?

I was reading on Weyoun's Memory Alpha page that in a deleted scene from "You Are Cordially Invited...", Bashirwas clearing out various objects from his quarters that Weyoun had gathered while he was occupying them.

I also seem to remember reading another deleted or unfilmed scene mentioned that one of Morn's brothers or sisters was called Fulp.

Have any websites (or Trekbbs contributors!) ever attempted to gather a definitive list? BTW, wasn't Rod Roddenberry supposed to have been gathering DS9 and TNG deleted scenes for some project? What happened to that?

The Companion says that "To The Death" had a number of scenes cut because the network objected to the violence. So now, when they arrive at the bad guys fortress, there's a small fight, and we win!

That's the only reference I remember from that, though... I was very disappointed they weren't included in any form on the DVDs.

Memory Alpha has a small list of DS9 deleted scenes:

http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Deleted_scene#Star_Trek:_Deep_Space_Nine

There was an unfilmed scene that was meant to be at the end of "Rocks and Shoals" where Worf and other crewmembers of the Rotarran beam down to rescue Sisko and the others.

The scripts of the Final Chapter episodes are filled with scenes that weren't in the final episodes. Most of these scenes seemed to feature Quark and seemed to have not been filmed due to Shimerman being on Buffy.

I imagine one could compile such a list if they had access to the shooting scripts of each episode. I've seen a few of them in the online databases of various archives here in Los Angeles (the WGA has a few, for example) while doing research for other projects, but nothing close to all of them, and I have no idea what's publicly available (if anything) on the internet and through other easily accessed sources.

That's a cool resource. I didn't realize the DS9 Companion had a CD-ROM version released. Amazon's entry is pretty sketchy--does anyone know what other material was on that disc?

Re: Has anyone ever compiled information on DS9's deleted/unfilmed sce

It's a "Companion" in a very loose sense of the word. It has the scripts (which were great to have) and the DS9 promos, but that was pretty much it.

Re: Has anyone ever compiled information on DS9's deleted/unfilmed sce

For some reason, both the Companion and Memory Alpha have in the ep summaries for "Strange Bedfellows", "The Changing Face Of Evil", and "Tacking Into The Wind"...scenes which are NOT in the eps.

In "Strange", there's apparently a scene near the end where O'Brien talks with Bashir about the latter's feelings for Ezri. Miles brings up the events of "Prodigal Daughter", and that he feels rather protective of the girl, and that Julian had better make absolutely sure he treats her right.

(Sounds kinda out of character, to be honest--Miles, have you no faith in your friend? And when have we seen you as Ezri's "father figure"?)

In "Changing" we're apparently supposed to see the scene that Julian describes in "When It Rains...", wherein Julian asks Ezri why she's been avoiding him, and then if its because he's offended her somehow. Ezri reassures him that it's not that--but then he's called away.

(Cut for time, doubtlessly. Still, a scene with Ezri is a scene with Ezri.)

Finally, "Tacking" apparently has a "real" final scene where Ezri and Worf tost his brief-yet-honorable reign as chancellor.

(Again, probably for time. In this case...it actually nicely counterparts the scene with Ezri's memorable speech on corruption, but it seems like it's basically a scene which says things which the audience already know....)

Though I wonder that the scenes that got filmed, but later cut, are not included on the DVDs in a section with "Deleted scenes". :( I had hoped so much they would, because they cut two Damar scenes out, after filming and I wanted to see them. I was very dissapointed they were not there....actually I am still dissapointed about it...

Agreed. From the moment they stated to characterize Damar (even in his "heavy-drinker" days at the start of Season 6), I thought to myself, "Dang, this guy's awesome...albeit a bit unsure of himself".

It's especially curious since some scenes deleted from the broadcast prints DO appear on the dvd versions (2 which immediately spring to mind are Jadzia & Jira in the holosuite in Way of the Warrior & the extended laugh mix outside the Founder's base in What you leave behind). Probably means that these missing missing scenes were never considered integral parts of the producers' cut of the show

Weren't both of those scenes you describe cut when those episodes ("The Way of the Warrior" and "What You Leave Behind") were each made into two one-hour episodes, as opposed to being two-hour episodes as originally aired?

Since they appear in their original, two-hour form on DVD, those scenes are intact.

Certainly possible. My memory isn't that good; & these episodes are never screened as one-parters nowadays

What network? Or do you mean the studio?

Deep Space Nine was never on network TV in the United States, it was sold to individual stations in first-run syndication.

Original scripts, including deleted lines are also here. Quark was not in "Improbable Cause" and "The Die is Cast", but he was in an unfilmed scene in the latter episode. I remember seeing a photo of Quark visiting Odo in the Infirmary in another deleted Quark scene in "Extreme Measures". These scripts did have the discussion between Sisko and an admiral in "The Maquis, Part I" which was filmed from outside his office as having heated discussion with his desk monitor, but not anymore for some reason.

I have no idea what I mean. I mean, the suits. The man. The people in authority. People who don't like violence on TV.

Please, think of the children.
